It's not all his fault. he clearly is not an opening Test match batsmen. Square peg, round hole. poor selection imo. stick him lower down the order.
 
A limited overs game is like a 100 metre sprint. The 5 day game is like a 10km run. You don't hear of a champion sprinter winning a 10km race, they take 2 different mind sets, tactics, stamina, similarly the difference between the one dayer and the 5 dayer.
To believe that those who can excel in limited over cricket can also excel in 5 day cricket is absurd, but unfortunately our dopey selectors don't realise it.
