Aston Villa v AFC Bournemouth

Do you think Villa will look to attack on Saturday Jonny?

Last week Sheffield United were hyped as being very expansive with overlapping centre backs. We were all taken aback by how conservative they played in reality. It certainly hampered our attacking play.

As you might have read on this forum we do lack a bit of creativity in the middle of the park, but when teams do open up and attack us we can be lethal on the counter.

New players will be looking to Impress the crowd I just hope they will handle the pressure.we attack up the flanks but our down fall is we play out from the back.we can't do this in this league or we will be punished UTV

Glad to hear that. Makes for a good game. Can't wait and also my first trip to Villa park. A proper stadium and hoping it goes rather quiet when we go 2-0 up.
Enjoy your first visit hope there's many more to come for you Oh and the fact 41.500 (full house) in full voice don't forget your earplugs lol UTV

Villa team news update. Kodjia was their second leading scorer last season with 9 after Tammy Abraham with 26.

Aston Villa will be without trio James Chester, Kortney Hause and Jonathan Kodjia when they welcome Bournemouth to Villa Park this weekend.

Premier League football returns to B6 on Saturday and Villa will be looking to get some points on the board after they succumbed to Tottenham Hotspur last weekend.

Boss Dean Smith will be planning for such a meeting with the Cherries without three first-team players, though.

This just makes me think they have a striker waiting in the wings somewhere who hasn't scored since 2012 or something and needs to break his duck against us before going on to score in 20 consecutive games...

LOL trust me nobody waiting in the wings we only have 3 stickers kodjia who's out.wesley who's untested in English football and 19 year old davis.if we score it will be midfielder or Mr Ming's header saying hi.UTV

Whe
Only because the capacity of the ground has been reduced since the introduction of all seater stadia. Hopefully there are plans to increase the capacity in the future by, "filling in the corners"

When Bournemouth play Vilka at Dean Court later in the season the attendance will be about half what it was in 1971.

Back then, the Holte End was the biggest and loudest home end I had winessed. In the intervening years, I have seen very little to beat that day anywhere in the world.

I was there last time and have got to say even though you were all but relegated you support was superb that day. Looking forward to another trip up on saturday.

You see some villa fans saying they should be winning this game at home, which annoyed me a bit. But then you remember we had the 5th worst away from in the league last year- so they probably should. Hopefully we can counterattack with some bite this time.

Also saw this on the Villa forum; for all you Gosling fans out there!...

Wilson scored 3 goals and 2 assists in 12 games when Gosling didn't play. 2 of those goals and assists were in 2 games against Huddersfield. So 11 goals 7 assists in 22 with Gosling playing.

That seems significant. I looked this up after seeing FPL tweet warning Wilson record without Gosling last season

Forget Wilson/Fraser; I'm now on team WilsonxGosling

That's really random but I like the level of nerdery someone up there is working to!

Injury updates AFCB - Relevant paras. Things look better.

AFC Bournemouth midfielder Lewis Cook is in the final stages of his rehabilitation, manager Eddie Howe has revealed.

The midfielder hasn't been put back in full training with the squad, but has taken part in smaller sections of training.

“Lewis Cook is out working in America with a specialist and it’s going really well.

“It’s good news and he’s in the last stages before he can return to full training with the team.”

“We’re waiting to see the extent of Arnaut Danjuma’s injury, which was unfortunate.

“Lloyd Kelly won’t be too long hopefully, but both him and Arnaut will miss this game.

“Andrew Surman is fit as is Harry Wilson, and Dan Gosling is still working back from his operation.

Take the seats out in the north stand lower and if possible do the same to the holte lower.incress the capacity and give back the old feeling of years gone by.crushed like sardines but having a brilliant time feck I'm feeling my age now lol UTV

That works around Europe Rob,I saw it in Leipzig the other week in a friendly with em.still not sure what I think of it myself.

Jonny, you're very welcome on this site, but just a tip for the uninitiated.....don't ever use "em". Some people might think you are friends with a former chairman of ours who had those initials and will put out a contract on you:grinning:
