Fifteen Goals Scored by AFCB In Last Three Visits

Two Championship games played with a depleted team of first team regulars and in come some youngsters. In the two games they have not let our team down and what they may lose in experience they have shown in effort and enthusiasm. The latest game in Nottingham against Forest, finished with a 1-2 win and the last 35 minutes with 10 men after Brooks received his second yellow card. This was also the first time we have won away against Nottingham Forest.

After the away game on Saturday in Nottingham, the Cherries are again away on Wednesday night this time in the Midlands against Birmingham City. Their manager is Lee Bowyer who formerly was the manager at Charlton for 3 years. Lee Bowyer started his playing career at Charlton and he also played later for Birmingham City. He replaced Aitor Karanka as manager on the 16th March this year with Birmingham in 21st position on 35 points after 36 games. At the end of the season his team were in 18th place with 52 points.

This season in the transfer window they have signed both goalkeeper Matija Sarkic and defender Dion Sanderson from Wolves on a season long loans. Other players on loan are forward Tahith Chong from Manchester United and defender Juan Castillo from Chelsea. Three players join on free transfers, forward Chuks Aneke joins from Charlton, winger Jordan Graham joins from Gillingham and midfielder Ryan Woods from Stoke City.

City had a 0-1 winning away start to their campaign, with their first game against a team who last season were in the Premier League. Sheffield United finished bottom on 23 points, 3 points less than West Brom who AFCB drew with at Dean Court in our opening game. Birmingham City’s first home Championship game was against Stoke City and it finished in a 0-0 draw. Birmingham City are yet to concede a goal.

Last season when we played at St Andrew’s our side came away with a 1-3 victory, our goals came from Arnaut Danjuma and a brace from David Brooks. This was the Cherries third win in a row at City’s ground, also scoring 15 goals. Previous visits in the Championship finished 0-8 and 2-4 in the 2014-15 and 2013-14 seasons.

In all our away league games against Birmingham City, AFCB have W 5, D 3, L 0.

All competitions, AFCB have W 13, D 4, L 3.

Birmingham City Team News
Winger Tahith Chong missed their last game against Stoke City with a hamstring injury. New signing Dion Sanderson has been out due to lack of fitness for Championship games.

Birmingham Player To Watch
Gary Gardner in midfield had a good game against Stoke City. They also have the experienced 32-year-old Lucas Jutkiewicz up front.

AFCB Team News
Apart from our other missing players, Adam Smith didn’t start in Nottingham due to illness. David Brooks will miss the game against Birmingham after getting sent off against Forest. It could be a similar side again on Wednesday night, with at least one change for Brooks suspension.

AFCB Player To Watch
Last season Lloyd Kelly and Arnaut Danjuma were building a good partnership on the left flank, this seems to be the same for the young duo of Jaidon Anthony and Jordan Zemura in the opening games of this season, with Anthony getting assists in both our opening two games.
Philip Billing has scored in the previous two games, can he make it three games on Wednesday?

While the repairs continue 4,613 season ticket holders will be housed in the Gil Merrick and Main Stand for the Bournemouth game.
Any Birmingham fan who is not a season-ticket holder and who has purchased a ticket for either game will not be able to attend.
Away supporters who have bought tickets can still be there as planned.

I have no earthly idea how we’re going to line up tbh. Brooks out is a huge blow. Maybe...

CDM. Kilkenny
CM. Billing
CM. Marcondes
RW. Solanke
ST. Saydee
LW. Anthony

If Stanislas is fit to start then Solanke goes back up front and Saydee drops out. If Pearson is fit...I think he stays on the bench for me personally.

Marc Robert’s long throw ins will be a worry. No doubt the usual stealing of a few yards up the sideline will be common place.
