Cameron Carter-Vickers

Why sell Mepham or Kelly...they've only just started their Cherry careers...and should be good enough for a promotion campaign in this league.. if the management have sorted out whatever the ' teams ' dressing room problems were!

Yeah a decent euros for him, hopefully the perfect antidote rather than potentially dwelling on our last fixture in the playoffs.

with a few additions to replace the likely exiteers we should be trying to get a good development plan for our younger players like Kelly...Mepham...Stacey...Zemura...Kilkenny...Travers...Anthony and Saydee

So now Newcastle, among others, are now showing interest in CCV. What a surprise after the season he's just had.

Well done to the Board once again...they had the opportunity to tie-this up in January

Do we know for sure that we had the option to tie this up in January?

Also, didn’t he only make his debut for us in the FA cup game against Oldham? By the time the transfer window closed in January he’d only managed about 2-3 games for us out of about 25! Can’t blame the board for holding off on making it permanent with that kind of record.

Absolutely correct James. But some on here don’t like the facts get in the way of a moan!,

It has always been difficult getting information out of our club over the years, they seem to have a secret inner sanctum.

We hear rumours about someone knows this or that, but if the board want to keep it private, that seems to be how it stays amongst the few involved.

Our local paper at one time were always the first with the latest up to date news from the club, the time of the various editions of the Echo and normally a story broke in the late edition.

These days the Echo seem to be reporting what we have seen from various news outlets.

I know some on here make it their daily routine to have a pop at the board at all costs but for christ sake have a day off every once in a while.

I honestly don't know how some of you sleep at night with all the worry, about what you can moan about the following day.
I'm going back to see if all these hindsighters actually said we should sign CCV at the time, when he was injured and not playing.

My mate works at Spurs-u-like in White Hart Lane, he's heard there is a deal in principle but there's been some hold ups.

First was the asking price, Spurs wanted £3 million per name, A.F.C.B. could only afford 2 but Spurs and C.C.V. wanted to take all 3. Then Max's Mum was spring cleaning and found the rest down the back of sofa.

Now it's the add-ons, Spurs want extra for International appearances. If he stays American it's £5000 a go, If he becomes English it's £10000 a pop. Max agrees to that, the snag is, if he finds some Scottish heritage, it's tuppence ha'penny per game. Max is concerned about Cameron as a Christian name, sounds a bit "Jock" to him. N.B. ( after exhaustive research ) has found out C.C.V parents are big Ferris Buller fans. So it's back on again. Max has reservations after his last Scottish encounter, first he went missing (on full pay) for a year, then he had a job to give him away : )

Anyway, expect it to be announced, unless it all falls through, then don't : )

Arsenal looking at Ben White for 40-50m odd as well.

SSN - Update

ARSENAL IN 'ADVANCED' WHITE TALKS

Arsenal in advanced talks with Brighton over the signing of defender Ben White.

Sky Sports News reported Arsenal had a £40m bid rejected last week. Discussions continue over a deal that could be worth £50m.

Negotiations are centred on structure of payments with personal terms not expected to be a problem. All parties hopeful a deal can be sorted.

ARSENAL 'IN WHITE TALKS'

Arsenal are moving closer to an agreement with Brighton for England defender Ben White with a deal said to be "not far off", according to The Athletic.

The Seagulls reportedly want a guaranteed £50m but the Gunners are currently offering £45m with £5m in add-ons, according to David Ornstein.

It is claimed that face-to-face talks have taken place and negotiations continue over the payment structure.

Ben White was born in Poole, another one who got away because we will always be tinpot just like we were when Saints took him to their academy in 2014, we are exactly where we are now as we were then. Infrastructure does count for something and if you think that training facility next to the Stadium which is the equivalent to Littledown's six 3G pitches but with a worse fence around them is acceptable then you're deluded. I'd still prioritize the Stadium but none are going to ever happen so it makes no difference, Rich or Poor, PL or L1, same BS.

All clubs miss out on local players.
Does every top young player sign for his local team?
Exactly. Kids develop at different rates too and there may be better players ahead of them at certain age groups and positions. There would have been some kid on Madeira 30 years ago trying to get picked on the right wing ahead of Christiano Ronaldo and eventually buggering off to find another team. Now say by some fluke he was the second best right winger in the world, he’d have popped up somewhere else later. I’m exaggerating to make a point before someone points it out but you see it in youth football to a lesser extent all the time

What role did infrastructure play in Danny Ings' career?
