Cummings, non

Leftie or Righti, doesn't really matter.

It's just gripping stuff the watch, you couldn't make it up.

No axe to grind with the government as to how it's done Covid, left or right would have made a hash of much of it, especially in the early days.

It's inevitable that dirt will come out from under the carpet and if there's a side effect of the Tories losing votes then so be it. :grinning:

Because of course now everyone believes Banyard Cummings is the epitome of honesty . Particularly the Guardianistas .

no no , I’m interested but I’m a political wonk just like everyone else on this thread , but you know the political talking heads and the usual suspects on here will be coming out with all “ the Tories have had it “ bo*locks when in reality most voters already know as you keep pointing out, the governments response was good and bad .

I doubt the public will vote the tories out any time soon, even if they could, but I do think it's a matter if time before the Tories themselves oust Johnson and Hancock. In fact I thought Cummings' praise of Sunak was quite suspicious.

We can all moan about our bosses and ways of working, especially if we have a negative slant for whatever reason. Few people with an axe to grind have this public opportunity to really make it appear (possibly) worse than it is/was. Who knows the truth, but given his past behaviour (eye test anyone) if this was a court he would not be a credible witness .

I do struggle to keep up with things at times.

Rewind to Feb/Mar 2020 and Sunak was a Boris puppet because he replaced Javid as he wasn’t aligned to Boris.

A few months later and Sunak was a hero.

Cummings was the devil incarnate a year ago, holding too much power for Boris to sack him and was really the one in charge.

Now he’s throwing Boris under the bus and throwing Hancock under multiple double decker bendy buses and now he’s seemingly a good chap?

I do believe what he says though particularly about the period of Jan-Apr 2020. It was clearly a govt working in blind panic with duff info and no plan.

I really don't see the point people are trying to make about Cummings' credibility. He is absolutely not credible or trustworthy but in many ways that's not all that important.

Loads of the stuff he has said can fairly easily be verified one way or another. In a way the lack of preparedness is completely understandable during that first wave, as Cummings said himself, because of the scale of the problem. We know very similar situations were developing at the same time in the vast majority of otje comparable countries.

The personifies involved and Johnson's incompetence are just side stories. We know from subsequent events that Johnson is a woeful leader because he didn't learn from any of the mistakes that Cummings is highlighting here. Even this week he's shown he's still not in control of pandemic communications. None of that is new.

It will be very interesting to hear what Downing St denies. No doubt Cummings is a weasel but he's not stupid and there's a lot of suggestions he has kept detailed records.
Does Boris risk denying stuff if it's true, when he knows Cummings may be able to prove him a liar? Or does he risk it, given that everyone knows he's a liar and half the population don't give a ****************

This stuff is priceless.

As others have said on Twitter, 'If these were normal times the government would have resigned'

However these are not normal times and we will continue to get a continuation of this corrupt, lying, criminal bunch of scum (with an untouchable majority)!!!

How do you really feel ?

So basically Cummings is saying that the running of the Country should be in the hands of our " brilliant Civil Servants".

I had doubts about DH from the start..but then in fairness, we have yet to hear his defence of what Cummings has so searingly laid at his door.

When Cummings so openly says that he himself made 'many' mistakes...how are we then supposed to take his other rhetoric seriously !.
.So...lots of people, including Cummings, Johnson and Hancock have made mistakes...and Corbyn would have too! Par for the course of a Pandemic Crisis ?

The Public could also be drawn into the Blame...for not believing any of the Crap being spouted from All ..,(but say Mr Van Tam) .and going apoplectically Apocalyptic!

This guy Cummings seemed to have his finger.on a lot of Pulse...he probably even counted the Roses and noted the varieties in that garden!

But..Thank God for Rose Gardens ...where we can escape for a few hours!

Boris is teflon coated - nothing seems to stick. He flushed £54 million of public money down the toilet on the Garden Bridge project when he was mayor of London, wasted several millions more on water cannon that were never used, has twice been sacked for lying, his incompetence resulted in Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe being imprisoned for 5 years in Iran - but he still gets voted in as prime minister

Funny just looked on you tube to see if there’s a live stream ... ITV 900 watching , sky news 3500 watching ,the telegraph 1500 watching, channel 4 1500 watching ..... GUARDIAN NEWS. 12000 watching ..

Leftie porn that the average voter couldn’t give a sh*t about .
Its lovely that you care so much.

Ah, I thought you might bite!!

More to the point how do you feel, as you have always made it very clear that you would still support Johnson, and his lying flock, even if he nuked your house!

That was a bite ? Relax mate .

Not sure how I’ve made it very clear about anything as I’ve barely posted on the pandemic thread
What I would say is 20 20 hindsight is a wonderful thing , and now Cummings who was the arch liar to posters like you now has you hanging on every word .
