Euro 2020

Great news that Eriksen is conscious. Looked bloody awful.

A lot of power in that header, threw everything at it - and I can't stand the changing room door botherer.

Anyone understand why VAR didn't overrule that comedy penalty? Not the best ref we've seen so far either.

Well it was the English ones..

Main news is Eriksen will be ok.

Credit to the medical staff for their work and officials/players to saw what was going on and acted quickly.

More importantly than the result, it seems it was one of his teammates quick reaction that might have saved his life.

Good to know that a player knew what to do before the medical people got to Eriksen.

Denmark star Simon Kjaer ran towards Christian Eriksen after he collapsed on the pitch during the Euro 2020 fixture against Finland. He stabilised him and started CPR.

Eriksen was dead for at least 2 minutes there and that is the max you get before brain damage so credit to the medics and Anthony Taylor for acting quickly.

In regards to match Denmark had better players but Finland defended like beavers and 1 shot was enough to win it. I thought the pen for Denmark was very soft though it was saved and very tame.

So relieved that Christian is stable in hospital...can’t imagine how that must have felt to be involved in and credit to the players and the rapid response...football definitely takes a back seat after this shock, the game should have been abandoned IMO and the trauma for the players and fans allowed to ‘normalise’.....

Good news Eriksen OK... but it was a severe and cold order to continue the game later the same day...with players minds unsettled in that way.

This incident should bring some shame attention onto the cheating antics ...put them under a heavier scrutiny....with the World watching.

The ref did well to discern the severity of the situation and stop the game so quickly. This incident makes the practice of rolling around feigning injuring all the more unpalatable.

There is a warning here... feigning injury can cost lives.....

Of course, in this case, players frantically waving for help was enough for Taylor to immediately stop the game and get the medics on. Didn't wait to go over to the player and assess him first as they would normally do.

As @Jim_AFCB mentioned, how many times do we see a player rolling around slapping the ground only to get up the minute the medics get to him? One day such actions may cost a life because officials are going to be wary of time wasting. Utmost credit to Taylor, the players and the medics in this case. Perhaps a yellow or two for the 'time wasters' will make them think twice.
