Europa League 2026-27

Just had an email from the club re Sturm Graz game for ST holders re needing to download from app.

Reminder for those who may not have done this yet.

Log into the app using the same details you use to access your ticketing account. Once logged in:
  • Select ‘Tickets’ from the menu bar at the bottom of the screen.
  • Select 'AFC Bournemouth v SK Sturm Graz' to open your digital ticket.
Four hours before kick-off, a QR code will be displayed on your ticket within the app. This can be scanned at the turnstile for entry.

Alternatively, supporters can add their individual match ticket to their Apple Wallet or Google Wallet and use NFC to enter the stadium by tapping their phone at the turnstile, in the same way as making a contactless payment.

I think the email indicates not to use Google wallet or Apple wallet for the Europa games Billy?

Look at alternatively re using NFC.

Think they were reminding us it won’t be downloaded automatically like our ST are.

On the email using Cherry Bear’s seat, it shows two different choices.

One with QR code, the other to either of the two wallets.

Important Digital Ticket Information for Season Ticket Holders - Sturm Graz

Thank you for securing your ticket for AFC Bournemouth v SK Sturm Graz at Bournemouth Stadium.
For this fixture, you will need to access the individual match ticket for this fixture through the AFC Bournemouth app.
If you’ve added your usual digital season ticket to an Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, it will not be valid for entry due to UEFA competition requirements.

The club was trying to say three things in their email:

You cannot use your Seaon Ticket for the Sturm Graz match.

Instead, you can either:

Use the Sturm Graz match ticket in the AFCB App - note you’ll need a QR code which you’ll receive about 4 hours before kick off;

Or you can

Upload the Sturm Graz ticket into your Apple or Google wallet where it’ll appear as well as your season ticket.

When you first start to read the email it can seem that you can’t use the wallet, see below last two paragraphs.

But when you go further down it shows an example of Cherry Bear’s ST and either using QR code or from your wallet like your ST, you can use NFC on the reader.

It would be a good idea if people on (say) 7-12 points who were unsuccessful for Prague tickets were given first go at Vigo tickets.

The "top" 1000 people should have BETTER access to these historic games. They shouldn't have exclusive access

To Billy’s point, the first rule of clear communication is to state all the important information upfront so people don’t need to scroll down.

The club’s communications about digital ticketing haven’t done that. The result is to make something which is essentially quite simple seem far more complicated than it is.

I think Vigo will be available at a much lower points threshold. It’s a much more challenging place to get to, and plenty will have prioritised Prague. 2 away European trips in the space of a few weeks is quite a commitment.

Regarding tickets for Vigo - the email has come through and it says on there about having to enter your passport details and that each ticket will be checked to make sure it matches up with the ticket holder. In practice, does that happen or do they not check ? I have heard that usually the checks aren't made , only that the ticket itself is a valid one .....

I totally disagree with this. People that went to more away games should always get preference over people that did less. It’s about rewarding effort and loyalty. In an ideal world you shouldn’t have to draw the line anywhere and everyone could go.

You can’t turn around to people who battled all over the country to all 18 games and say, someone who only went to half of them but fancies a European day out is having your ticket.

It’s always been the same at all clubs, if you want to guarantee a ticket for any game you have to put the effort in.

I think it’s a lottery really and we haven’t got much experience! There were no checks in Sociedad but that doesn’t mean there won’t be elsewhere. Talking to veterans of other clubs European away days they say the ticket checks stopped with electronic tickets. Up until a couple years ago you had to go to a designated hotel or ticket booth in the country with your passport to pick up a paper ticket. None of them have experienced checks on e-tickets but all clubs threaten them and you should travel taking that chance and potential disappointment.

Cheers Neil.

Spain has a different law to Czech hence the different wording in the communication from the club. Spanish law insists on entering the stadium with ID (I believe this has to be a passport).

Whilst the checks at Sociedad were lapse, it could be very different for Vigo and they could have, in theory, a Spanish relative to our safety officer and could put a militant search to check our papers. :)

The wording used for RS, was a passport was the preferred form of ID.
I carried our passports around San Sabastian, I won’t be doing that at Vigo. We have photographic driving licence's. That’s all they’re getting from me.

I went to an Inter Milan domestic game at the San Siro this year. They checked everyone's ID against their ticket

The most loyal fans should get best access. They shouldn't get EXCLUSIVE access
