How do you feel, right now?

Always disappointed after we lose any game, but we have not set the footballing world alight for the last couple of seasons, and it seems some rot /complacency has set in at the club. I agree with previous posters that we do need a clear out of some of the playing staff and a competent board needs to make a management decision asap so we can let any new chap prepare a competitive team for next season, we must look forward not back. My biggest disappointment is the lack of a new stadium that we own and the training ground situation, the club requires a foundation for its long term survival and maybe these would cement that in place.?

Now is not the time for retribution towards any players at the club, some will move on and others will stay and hopefully develop into much better players, especially with all of our support , a positive word along the way is always better than a negative one, and PLAY some of our younger players, how are they ever going to progress sitting on the bench?

Maybe the club needs a few more Ford Cortina's and not so many Bentleys in the car park ?

As someone who's dad took me along with him to support and watch Bournemouth & Boscombe Athletic FC in the 50's one has come to take the good along with the not so good , it's all part of being a Cherries supporter, so let's all look forward to a new season and as always, "Come on Boscombe"(y)

but more importantly Max might have made getting back into the PL a minimum for Blake meaning that we fire the elector seat and get in an experienced football CEO.
I never quite understand the hatred for Blake other than he bought his wife a big car rather than a big-mac

I've no idea whether he's doing a good job or not. Max holds the purse-strings, Blake employs the staff and likely had little to do with Eddie's departure or the JT/JW appointments.
He probably gets final signoff on player transfers and contracts, the majority of which have been successful
The ticketing system has it's moments, I suppose

Moaning at him on here is like complaining about the council CEO in the echo comments section when your bins aren't emptied, utterly pointless and probably misdirected [when derek and clive threw sickies that morning]

The referee from yesterday did VAR for Villa v Chelsea today. He failed to overturn a handball from Mings to a shot that was going in.
Now either he got ours wrong yesterday or this one. As both were similar.

To be honest the mings one today was from a lot further out, so if he didn't think that was a penalty then how could the one yesterday be

Having reflected on the game and come to the realisation that it's really not all that bad in the grand scheme of things, the main feeling from the match is not liking the blatant time wasting that we employed from the off. It was worse than Burnley at ours last season and that was horrendous. I get you need to manage the game, but it wasn't pretty.

That said, we now have an opportunity, we can rebuild with players from lower down the ladder who show promise, look to get back to playing good stuff and have a team again, not a collection of individuals. Will we take the opportunity? Time will tell.

I feel very disappointed. I know in a life context it is not a disaster. But I feel low and unable to put it out out of my mind.
I think this season was a missed opportunity. With an experienced manager we surely would have been promoted. JT and JW both did OK, but, not above expectations. Also recruitment was poor. Another back up centre half and a goalscoring forward were clearly needed.
I would feel better if the board announced a good manager as it would reassure me we are still looking to get to the premier league. I would like to see JW have a season with his own players, but next year isn't the one, as it is realistically, our last one with a financial advantage.
If you were a real fan of our club you most definitely wouldn’t have chosen a username like that. Don’t expect too many likes.

I feel always us at the end of a controversial turning point, thought at 2:0 only thing that will f*** us now is a moment of madness or controversial decision to turn the game and we got both, The dodgy penalty decision changed the game completely, gave Brentford hope all our early plans of roughing them up and taking the game to them plans, unravelled and then it was written in the stars, after the first leg I hoped to f*** cooks injury wouldn't come back to haunt us and could Mepham have 2 good games in him without a costly mistake and then........

...on reflection at 2-0 we looked set for the win over the two legs, it was a poor decision to award the penalty and it appeared that it was the lino who did signal it to the referee, so can't really blame him totally. As for Chris's error it was born out of our obsession with playing out from the back as he tried to control the ball and got caught by a sharp opposition player. I have said many times that we just don't have the skilled defenders who can play out from the back and need to sort it. To be honest can we not see Steve Cook doing a similar thing? I hope that Mepham doesn't have his life affected by the trolls and idiots who are saying that he should never play for us again.
Lerma's stupid yelow card took away his effectiveness in the tackle and that contributed to their second goal, it was important for us to defend as a team better after we went down to ten and I feel that bringing on ,Rico Jack Wilshere and Jack Stacey for Brooks, Solanke and Billing would have given us more protection. However we were up against some decent attacking players and eventually got done.
Next season will be see the biggest upheaval of our squad in years and I hope that the club sort the manager situation out very very quiclky in order to allow some rebuilding and planning to happen swiftly.

See if you watch mepham again , he knows the striker is there, and was waiting for the ball to come down to play a simple pass back to the goalkeeper .
Keeping Pearson and lerma on when up against it I can see but lermas yellow was stupid . If your to take one for the team, do it to benefit us.

Crap he may be but how do you know he reported on himself? You seem to suggest Max is pretty stupid and gullible.

All this weeping and wailing, yet bigger clubs than ours have taken years to get back to the top flight. Look at Sunderland!
You still have a fondness for anticipating the thoughts and motives of others I see Rob. Don’t presume I’m ‘weeping and wailing’ - far from it.
I never suggested Max was gullible or stupid - don’t put words into my mouth. i don’t think he is either but I do think he has been badly let down by someone he placed in a position of trust. Is that clearer for you ?
You have no idea about the reporting mechanisms within the Club so I’m not sure how you are qualified to comment at all - let alone critically. I did know the set up - albeit 5 - 6 years ago now. Historic maybe but I have no reason to think that much - if anything has changed. In fact without Eddie’s input to Max I believe it has worsened. You think communication has improved - given the muzzling and sidelining of Mostyn - I think the contrary. Good to see you think Blake is ‘crap’ though - it’s one thing on which we can both agree - I just called it a lot earlier than you.

I've no idea of your thoughts and motives. As to being qualified to comment, well there are no rules about whether I can offer my thoughts to the debate, unless its suddenly only open to those with knowledge of what was happening six years ago.

What I do imagine to be true is that Max will have at least an annual review with Blake and take action accordingly.

So we both have no idea of the reporting set up.

As for me thinking communication has improved - don't put words into my mouth. ;-

WhT disappointed me most was the ugly performance. The rolling about and amateur time wasting tactics looked really awful.
Yes time to end this era. Bit fed up of being disliked tbh.

I know loads of you don't care, but I liked being a 'nice club' - it does make a difference when you go away too, as some fans seem to hate the fans as well as the players (silly, but there you go)

Well don't want to be a soft push over, but the falling to the ground, continual fouling etc is a bit tedious

I don’t know anything about the club behind the scenes and doubt many do on here tbh.

Not sure demin or Blake deserve all the stick levelled at them. Max has funded the club and gave Eddie a huge kitty - more than similar clubs like palace/Burnley. This season was hardly a fire sale that some claimed/predicted. Left us with a lot of quality and depth in the squad so there was ambition left. Training ground delay was a huge disappointment but with the effects of both relegation and covid it’s hardly a shock. If we had stayed up I believe it would have happened.

As for Blake, he has a wide remit so until you see what he does for demin maybe hard to judge. Seems a lot of jealousy/resentment over his choice of wife and car but doesn’t bother me.

Can debate the merits of JT as coach but if they have built up Richard Hughes’ power and reduced the Eddie type manager role then need to look at his remit and how much Blake defers to him on football matters.

Clearly the approach was for a coach rather than a manager that may have meant JT appointed when other options were closed down. Made a decent interim appointment that rescued a play off place in the end when many felt mid table was more likely.

Think we are at a cross roads now so important decisions to be made. Maybe this is the point we will be able to really assess abilities?

seems to me some players seem more interested in trying the con the ref, and win a free kick rather than the game
It's not even the case that we are good at creating opportunities from free kicks.
When we get them we usually waste the possession anyway.

I think we'd get a lot more joy if more of our players concentrated on trying to stay on their feet and moving the ball forwards quickly. That's what we should be attempting to do, that should be our style. These stop/start type of games with no flow to them don't suit us and totally negate what we should be trying to do IMO.

If you are a 'nicer' team I'm sure it will come back to you eventually.

I just believe in Karma....

I'd certainly like to see us be more honest in our play and less embarrassing.
Over the past few seasons it does seem to have gotten worse. I think we realised in the PL that every other team was doing it to us and that in order to compete we needed to do the same.

If I were a manager I think I would still rather rise above it and stick to my principles than ask my players to start fighting fire with fire. I can understand why it happened but it doesn't make it right.
