Jack Wilshere

It sounds as if he'd be open to staying, I guess it will come down to wage demands in the end. Based on this season though, it seems unlikely that he'd get enough game time here to satisfy his needs IMO. I suppose a lot depends upon who we manage to keep and who we are forced to sell. A spot may still open up for Jack to be a more regular starter next season, in which case he/we might consider an extension.

If this is the end Jack, thank you for your efforts and your support for our club.
You have always been very professional and committed to our cause, we've enjoyed having you here. A top pro and a decent bloke. I'd buy you a pint anytime should our paths ever cross. I've been proud to see you in an AFCB shirt in your two stints here.

Good luck, wherever you end up, Mr. Wilshere.

I'm sure he's not averse to the odd drop of lager Erik ( enjoy responsibly ! ).
I'll be on the real ale though :p:wahey:

I could never have afforded to invite Jimmy Greaves out for a drink, I'm afraid , that would have been financial suicide. ;)
Lol I think that could be said of many former pros from the 60’s to late 90’s. Didn’t Paul McGrath used to start for United drunk sometimes ?

Heart says yes as I like the guy and the way he goes about his stuff… Really bought into us as a club both times, and clearly loves being down here…

Head, however, says he’s probably a luxury player with our financial situation, that we probably shouldn’t be affording… Given the rigours of the Champ as well, I’m not sure how much he’d add to us in the pitch.

We’ll probably go into next season with Pearson, L Cook, Billing and who knows… maybe even Lerma (doubtful tho)… so looking at those 3(4) I can’t see him being in front of them… and in that basis, it should be a thanks Jack, but go get a payday abroad somewhere…

Agree.

I'm not sure Jack is the player we need in the current situation.
I'm not sure we're the club Jack needs in his current situation either.

It was nice to have him back for a while but that happened more or less by accident. Jack now needs to do the best thing for his career. A nice payday somewhere with a warm climate would be pleasant and well deserved. He needs to go somewhere for a while where he can get a decent amount of game time in order to prove his ability to stay fit ( both to other clubs and to himself ).

I'm not sure Jack needs much more game time than he got with us. The amazing thing was that he played - on and off - for half the season and didn't get injured.
How often has that happened for him?
I think what he really needs is a situation where his playing time can be managed properly and he isn't expected to play twice a week, or maybe even every week.
Obviously it would depend on how much he'd cost, and his own willingness (although I took his recent tweet as a desire to stay).

No way in my mind . People are too sentimental.
Did he really boss games and I assume he was on decent money.
For less money I think we can find someone with more hunger and potential
