Jefferson Lerma

I think we've done some decent business..our net spend so far this window is probably in the region of £27 million., which is quite conservative. (Imagine saying that during the embargo days )

But the squads worth far more than that so I'm struggling to see the problem ...correct me if I'm wrong.

Indeed RH. I can't dispute that. I just keep an eye on what we owe.

If the worst happens and we were relegated, then the squad won't raise more than the debt.

Anyway, let us all rejoice in the FACT that my first prediction for 2018 has failed.

Ah, how perfect was the timings I gave out for our last signing. Still no credit.
Genial to a tee.
Now then..Mepham, seems we are going back for another nibble before tomorrow.
Hopefully Wonga will dish out a payday loan to finance this signing.

PLEASE NOTE I HAVE NOT SAID HE WILL SIGN, JUST WE ARE BACK IN WITH ANOTHER BID.
Pure guess work! but for once I hope your right

Is this the "we sign an international class defensive midfielder ( that we all agree we need ) or another of the cod accounting rabbit holes we keep tripping into? : )

Ps we all love you Al, don't change : )

So, if we sign him it's guess work?
If we don't, I was wrong.
It's a no win situation.:censor:
I reckon it's about 50/50 but it's clear that Brentford don't want to sell him and unless we're prepared to blow them out of the water? So long as it's not at the expense of ground or training academy :)

An extra 5 million in the situation we are now in won’t blow the ground or training projects out of the water.
With reagrds to the way we sign players now, I recal Eddie saying he finds it frustrating that he’s not involved in the initial meeting or negotiations, but he did say that’s the way it is with all the other clubs in our league as well. Especially if you are a hands on coach.

But we owe it to our owner, without whom we are screwed anyway. So what does it matter?

LERMA SIGNING 'A BIG STATEMENT'

Bournemouth's club-record £25m purchase of Jefferson Lerma is a "big statement" by the south coast club, according to Ryan Mason.

"It is a big statement to the fans to go out and spend that sort of money on a signing," the former Spurs midfielder told SSN.

"This Bournemouth side is settled in terms of the manager and the squad of players they have.

"And if they can bring one or two players in who can make a difference, which they have, it is a really good sign for them."

Mason more sensible than Danny Murphy on Talksport then - not that I listen to that useless station - but he apparently was having a pop at us signing Lerma due to his elbow on an England player. When it wasn't even him!
