FA cup is seperate this season.
So I dont understand why we rested him when he cannot have the slate clean until April?

I thought this was the case too but it isnt. All that changed is any bookings in cup matches dont count against PL. So if Jeff got booked against BHA for example, he would still be able to play at Everton.FA cup is seperate this season.

That’s a little harsh. At least 2 or 3 bookings have been unwarranted. And at least another 2 or 3 have been as a result of being stitched up by suicide passes from teammates.Slightly embarrassing that we have to even have this conversation about a grown man getting 9 bookings in 15 games.
I agree, he is a quality player but the fact Eddie cannot play him in games knowing that he's likely to get booked just shows poor discipline. Not saying he would have changed the game today, far from it but the fact he's got too 9 bookings so quickly must be a disappointment to Eddie.

I reckon there’s a very high chance we will see a card vs Watford, then can sit out the Brighton game (which he would of done anyway) and only miss the Everton league game, by which time Gosling should be back. I cannot think of any other possible reason for leaving him out today
This is correct. I can see why people find it slightly confusing but all you need to do is look back to August.I thought this was the case too but it isnt. A booking against Watford (now guaranteed!) will mean he will miss BHA and Everton

Injuries can happen any time. We play less games than in the championship. Those not on international duty often get 2 weeks off. It would certainly help the club's in European competition though. Not having a winter break like in Spain and Italy has cost us big time in injuries. I know we love the Boxing Day and New Years fixtures but the intensity of the premier league is definitely taking its toll.

The fact the bloke can not hide his aggression is embarrassing. Much more than any other player in the league. Facts point to it and it’s selfish since Eddie is forced to bench himEmbarrassing ? Not sure I'd use that word,
A number of his bookings he's got because he's had to commit a professional foul to prevent a breakaway and ultimately thats the position he plays and his role to break up play dictates that he'll get more than his fair share,
Not ideal but hardly embarrassing
