Lewis Cook

Going to miss Lewis now are we?

This was your post Tuesday night.

Hmm Lewis cook looks totally out of his depth again

I refer you to the 2nd of my signature lines.

I don't think there was a single person that thought Lewis had a decent game on Tuesday night... That doesn't mean we won't miss him as part of our midfield crop of players...

It's nothing to do with double standards... Playing badly on Tuesday doesn't make him a bad player... I wish Lewis a speedy recovery as we all know him and Lerma are probably our best midfield pairing, when both on form...

Lewis has not been on form this season, but he is nevertheless a big player for us.

Terrible news. This further reduces our chances of getting anything out of the game on Saturday.

The keyword that spoils your argument is "Cook looks out his depth AGAIN"

So the comment was not just about Tuesday night.

Gawd. Wishes to Lewis for his recovery...

It does expose midfield deficiencies in the squad and makes January recruitment compelling. Another injury and we'd have no specialist midfield at all. Much talk about moving Ake up from the back - maybe we're now obliged to give him a try??

Re: pushing Ake up to midfield. It seems like a good idea until you contemplate a back 4 of Francis-Cook-Mings-Daniels which doesn’t inspire me with confidence, especially against an on form Liverpool team.

I think a back 3 with Ake in it would look better:

------------------Begovic---------------------
---------Francis---Cook----Ake---------------
Fraser----------------------------Daniels/Rico
-------------------Lerma----------------------
Stanislas-----------Brooks------------ King
--------------------Wilson-------------------

Didn't Fraser pull up sharply on Tuesday around the 70th minute?

Might be digging a bit deeper in to the squad than we would like.
