Dunno mate. Dubai is very much more so the place to be, for wealthy people from and/or previously living in uk.

Funny enough, since just after labour voted back in. Ridiculously low tax rates... very high quality environment (for Emirates and westerners... not so much Africans working in manual jobs, service sectors...).

Relatively recently they changed rental regulations too... such as no longer hace to pay at least 6 months up front... apparently to encourage more entrepreneurs over there. Albeit you could interpret that as 'lower the bar', i guess.

A few parents af my daughters school lived out there until had kids. Some of them still fly out to dubai every montb or 2, as business still operates from there.

All of them say the same thing... they only moved back as didnt want kids growing up in a bubble over there. Ig they didnt have kids, they woukdnt have bothered moving back over here. Much better quality of life iver there, apparently.
My friend who is a jockey based in Dubai and rides in the UAE during the winter months says playing golf out there is very expensive.
Green fees in Dubai range from $100 to $450 depending on what time of day you play. I think I will stick to the cheaper version in Portugal of 55 euro.

Dangerous too!We had friends visit relatives out there a few weeks ago. They spent many nights in the basement.
Apparently not mate. I mentioned that to him, when he declared that was heading over there foe half term week with his wife and kids.

He said it pretty much was like any other time out there.

Ie no real signs of bombardment going on whatsoever :D

Fair enough you believe your mate going out for half term.
I'll believe our friends and their daughters family who Iive in Dubai and were recently sat on my sofa retelling the fear they lived through hearing the missiles and drones explode.
