Marcos Senesi

I would have thought this was self explanatory. The key word here is ‘talent’.

I think Senesi is easily replaceable. As others have said he is slowing and his passing has come off its game.

I don’t see him leaving as a problem. Same as I wouldn’t for Brooks or Adams.

If it was Scott or Jiminez or Truffert exiting on a free it would leave a hole and be irresponsible.
Interesting.

I know Lerma became the best player in the club's history as soon as he didn't commit to a new contract but Zemura and Kelly are on a level with Truffert and Jiminez now?

Wise to pick players with the longer contracts as it delays another screenshot.

Fun facts Transfermarkt.co.uk values when they left AFCB
Zemura - 6M
Kelly - 18M
Lerma - 20M

Current Squad
Senesi - 22M
Admas - 25M
Scott - 40M
Truffert - 25M
Jimenez - 22M

Seems your valuations don't marry up.

In fairness you did say that the key was that no one leaves for less than his value, whatever you think of Senesi his value is more than nothing.

The club clearly don’t want him to leave, we know that they have offered him multiple new contracts. There is no way that this is a club decision, let’s be honest.

Having said that I think that this could be one of those situations in which we actually end up better off for a player leaving as I agree that it is far beyond the realms of possibility that we are able to upgrade. Similarly to when Lerma departed, for as much as he was loved here I don’t think that you will find many who believe that both Cook and Adams didn’t both surpass him in terms of performance levels since his departure.

I don't think there's a scenario where a valuable player leaves on a free that results in a stronger side compared to when the player is sold for a fee.

Senesi and Jimenez same value yet one is a talent and one isn't.

You think 6M in '23 is 22M today with inflation. I'll happily lend you cash at over 50% a year or as you would call it inflation.

You've skewered him with his own ludicrous logic. Incoming :fish: or "all about opinions buddy".

Are you seriously debating using made up valuations? You can pay me in Monopoly money if you want as well for your bet….

Kudos raises valid points, but you have a knack of trying to turn it onto the person who challenges you, or to try and make them look/feel stupid. You’ve been doing it months.

The 'runs contract down', gets a massive 'sign on bonus' available for 'free' seems to get all sorts of parties interested.

It's a false economy.

Nobody wanted to wrench him from us when he was contracted and for a fee.

He's a great player, runs the season almost without injury, but his best days are past him and his balls from the back are getting worse.

He has remained committed to his contract, unlike Fraser, which is a positive.

Wherever he goes it'll either be a sideways move in the PL, or a bench sitting contract somewhere else.

Lerma hasn't exactly set the world alight at Palace, in what is a comparable move.

It's a money play for both Senesi and his agent.

Yes... its basically going to be his first and big pay day for him. For such a top class defender, its surprising that throughout his career, he's only been able to command a very average wage by pl standards... which is quite telling imo ...

Talksport now reporting he is off to Spurs this summer as long as they stay up.
I thought it was illegal to tap up players from the same country before their contract is up?

They can speak to domestic players in the last month of their contract. He's not staying so I don't see the big deal personally.
