Sad news indeed, I've still not found any report on the cause for his death.
The middleweight division in the 80s was fantastic. Hagler, Hearns, Leonard and Duran. Proper tear-ups! To this day I think Hagler beat Leonard and should have got the decision...Haglar was so incensed by the result he never fought again.
That era was a real high point in world boxing and was closely followed by the British version in the 90s with Benn, Watson and Eubank.

Hearns was so close to winning that on a Rantie; Hagler's always cut easily. Alan Minter wasn't averse to putting the head in on Hagler to cut him up.
