Men In Blazers on AFCB

They also have 100s of thousands of tourists looking for tickets. Who do you think the majority of these extra tickets are for?
No, you're right financially.

I'd prefer our extra seats went to locals that can walk to the ground, whereas you would rather charge a lot more and fly people in from all over the world with no local interest.

Then again, I was there 45-50 years ago when we couldn't get anyone through the gates so failing to engage a whole generation of locals still hurts me.

I know it's not my money but! LOL!

Would it be possible to build a 20,000 new stadium on our current training pitches AND then put in a 'winning offer', when our landlords are eventually forced to sell 'our' existing ground (which I understand will be around 2029) - presumably aimed at property developers!

We could then convert our existing ground to a car park on matchdays (laying down appropriate car parking materials which don't damage the grass - no idea what such materials are LOL!) and then use our existing ground for our ladies home games - as previously suggested by other posters!

Christ more negativity, what a bunch of moaners, we have an owners who's invested 100m's in the team, 10m's in a training facility, and now looking to increase the capacity by 80% plus, but still not good enough for some
We have an amazing football team, the best in our history. The new training ground looks like it will be one of the best in the country. My issue with BF is that he continually talks about increasing the scope of our supporter base but his actions and interview comments, thus far, have not aligned with this. His interview talks about 7,000 extra seats, so approx18.5 k for a redeveloped DC, which IMO is way short of what this football club should be aiming for. Most of these, by his own admission, will be expensive corporate seats and additional seats we will be expected to be provided for way supporters. So where do all the 'new' AFCB supporters fit into this?

BF has been great for the overall development of our football club, but he needs to stop talking about increasing our supporter base when his main intention is bringing an American business model (make as much money as possible) to an English football team (100+ years of local support).

Where does he say 7000 will be hospitality? Do we seriously think we can sell that much hospitality?
He's investing millions in this club, is anyone naive enough to think this doesn't go without increasing revenue?

To quote BF from his interview:
East stand rehab with much more hospitality
North Stand stays as is, perhaps with new roof
South stand redone as a double decker structure
Main stand complete rehab to add seats. All higher end hospitality seats.
"Bournemouth is a very wealthy community so we will have no problems selling tickets"

None of us have a clue what a new south stand might include, but from his comments it is clear he is aiming for loads more hospitality seats in any redevelopment of DC. It's his club and his money (along with other investors), but he is in for a shock if he thinks there is a never ending supply of mugs from BCP prepared to pay £300+ to watch a game of football with a 3 course meal thrown in for free.

Which is my main concern with the half-arsed plans for DC as described by BF - where do younger fans and families actually fit into all of this to grow our future support base?

We have a billionaire owner with vast experience for building successful sports teams and new stadiums in America and yet this is the best his team can think of for AFCB?

Your deluded, who's paying over the odd? Where are these tourists, they could buy hospitality tickets now
Every single fan who buys tickets via the points system pays way over what a season ticket holder would over the season.
And the tourists do buy the hospitality now, south stand is full of away fans, with less tickets available for regular fans.

I still can’t help but think they’re getting the modelling quite wrong. Go to Brentford for any game not against the top 6, and look at the hospitality section of their main stand. It’s about 30% full. Been that way everytime we’ve played there. And that’s in London where there is an endless supply of corporate demand for entertainment. I just can’t see that we have demand for thousands of hospitality tickets priced at £150 a game.

On the other hand the demand is there fans to pay £45 for a ticket, turn up 2 hours early to a huge dedicated fanzone and buy 2-3 drinks and food at £25-£30 a head.

Yes you need some hospitality, but I can’t help but feel we’re getting the balance wrong.

Additionally if Bill wants to balance the demographic of fans attending then adding more corporate isn’t the way to do it. If we could get tickets then I’d be bringing my wife and kids most weeks. As it is it’ll continue to just be me with the occasional outing for my son when there is a ticket spare in our group.
