Never Tear Us Apart - message from the club?

I really like the song and I thought the video was very well done. Loved seeing the old clips and players. However it had a very 'just been relegated' feel to it, almost sad in some ways.

Got me thinking, was it a message from the club? Two world's colliding, old club and the 'new' club. Never tear us apart, stick together through it all....?

Maybe over thinking it but it seemed so out of place, even though I did like it.

On another note, im usually in the safe standing but last night had to slum it in the ted mac.... Not an experience I wish to repeat.

The stewards are relentless on standing, so much as stand to watch a promising attack or a corner (in the back row) and the AFCB guards are glaring at you followed by frantic waving. The highlight of the first half was an older gentleman a few rows along being lectured to by a young jobsworth about how to sit on his seat correctly or he would be thrown out... its ridiculous.

It was brilliant. Very poignant. Loved every minute of it.

I know some people think we should generate our own atmosphere and I respect that opinion but I love stuff like this. Plus we don’t even generate our own atmosphere when playing Man Utd at home until the team do anything so I’m not sure until we get an injection of younger fans we can be relied on!

At the end of the day, the video, whilst it was good, we’ve had good ones before.

The one played with the Killers had old clips down the years included in it, the “who are we? We are AFC Bournemouth and together anything is possible” set the exact same tone and message.

We’ve had the one with the creed music and Sly Stallone saying it’s not hard you’ve been hit it’s getting back up and keep on moving forward.

The sandstorm for Sandman is brilliant. Nothing wrong with any of that. But play it all before the players walk out and leave that minute or two for our fans to connect to our players.

Let Botto make some noise for the boys that they can actually bloody hear because they’re on the pitch. Let the fans chant “Petro” as he approaches the North Stand. Or sing a song for a player returning from injury, or their performance last week.

Don’t blast out a song selected by committee because someone thinks we should have an anthem because other clubs do.

Good points. I’m not sure this is trying to start an anthem though. It’s not like they’ve picked a song we can all sing along to? I can’t see in a few months time them cutting the volume and us all stood arm in arm singing ‘never tear us apart!’

I think, like you say, it’s the latest in a series of videos and tunes by the media team (and in my opinion their best). Give it four weeks and we will be watching Mark Pugh scoring to Haircut 100 when someone remembers what a fantastic day that was and goes on Spotify to see if anyone wrote a song about that.

Agree with you on timings though.

You could see this happening throughout the game. Don’t blame the stewards, they’re clearly getting instructions from a jobsworth in the control room.

Meanwhile a steward was filming Uniteds penalty!! (Stood up of course).

Disproportionate and over zealous?

It’s definitely been started for this exact reason. Don’t remember the exact details but my mum is in some kind of telegram group thing with the BOTN podcast guys. They were invited with others by the club to talk about this, and they’ve said the club are bringing this in with the express purpose of it organically becoming our sing along anthem.

Blimey. INXS? I’m surprised.

And it doesn’t take a lot to mystify me…

Pre-half music is FAR TOO LOUD!! First and second halves.

In the days of Liz Fenney she did manage to get the 'music' turned down but the morons now have upped the volume to hearing damaging levels.

'Jobsworth Central Control' sounds like a place to avoid at all costs.
