No more bargains

Eddie saying in the Echo that we may no longer be able to find bargains like Daniels Francis and Arter because we are in the Prem.
Can understand that prices of lower league players go up because of where we are and the perception that we therefore have money but maybe we need a change of focus from British lower league players and should try casting the net a bit wider to find foreign talent.
It's going to be an interesting close season with the world cup taking place are we going to try and get our business done early again?

This is a far more worrying story

VVD and NA would make a fantastic central defensive pairing, and you can be sure that Klopp knows it, especially after Nathan's performance on Saturday.
Nathan is already a better player than Lovren, and those two at the back could serve Liverpool well for many years, improving their team even more than just VVD has done on his own.
Prepare to be disappointed.

Realistically speaking, none of Arter, Daniels or Francis would have been remotely ready for a PL move and all needed several seasons of week in week out matches to achieve their current level. That isn't something we can offer.

Sure, we may find an occasional player here or there but the reality is Lewis Cook, with more than a season of Championship matches under his belt and a fee under £10 million is now a relative bargain buy.

One thing in our favour is that VVD likes to play on the left of the central defence just like Ake. Fitting them both into the same defence might be tricky, not even Holland have played them both together at CB very often. Ake gets crowbared into left back more often for them as a result.

Thought if another club were to come in for him Chelsea can step in with their buy back clause which would stop us receiving mega bucks and in doing so give them the opportunity of either playing him or selling him at a massive profit for themselves..

Sending a message to the board maybe?

Reading the article it states the question was 'put to him' so I think its unlikely he was sending a message, probably just stating the blindingly obvious to a bit of a tame question. Perhaps I'm wrong.

Its slightly infuriating that the press tippy tappy around Eddie and the club. Why not ask Eddie what we want to know, not what we know already.
