Non - Brexit

Who? What? When? Why? Where ? and How?......that is the Questions........Nobody, Nought, Never, Not Sure, Nowhere et Not!......that is the Answers!!!!!!!!

No deal
Nien deal
Non deal
Nee deal

Possible or likely by 29 march

Of course it's more likely if the EU are unwilling to negotiate... Not that I necessarily blame them. Theresa May went and negotiated a deal with them only to go back later and tell them the deal isn't good enough any more.

But the bottom line is they think we won't accept a no deal scenario. In this situation I reckon our best option is to leave with no deal and build up later. We've already made too much of a hash of the negotiations.

Our spineless parliament won't let no deal happen, the eu no it as well and have subsequently now got us over a barrel

Anyway, our beloved zombie PM can't kick the can further down the road after next week as she'll run out of tarmac...
Let's hope Parliament don't ask for an extension for the negotiations as I think everybody is sick of it all.

There is much talk about the backstop which would be in place in the absence of an agreement between UK and Ireland. This would allow time, which May says she wants limited, to reach agreement. Trouble is there doesn't appear to be a way this can be agreed. If there was, why hasn't it happened already?

No..... if anything ..we have Them Over a Barrel ! Whatever outcome..they cannot Control us at any high level any more or extract as much money from us !
If we receive a few dents to our Infrastructure......so will they!

But far bigger problems are emerging on this planet if you can see through or past the fog of Brexit.
An increasingly belligerent Russia....a weaker USA with a Nutjob in charge!
Violent undercurrents in our own Social Structure: Inept Policing!

No ..lets just concern ourselves with...Backstops and who is and who isnt Anti-Semitic !
The Nation Waits for things to Happen....The Happens wont Wait for the Nation to catch Up!

Will we be taking back control post 29 March,

A third of British billionaires have moved to tax havens over the past decade, it has been reported.
An investigation by The Times found that 28 out of 93 British billionaires - 30% - have moved to tax havens or are in the process of relocating.
They are said to be among 6,800 Britons running 12,000 UK firms from low-tax jurisdictions, including the Bahamas, Belize, the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, the Channel Islands, Monaco and Switzerland.
Many of those who left the UK have been awarded honours or hold titles, with a viscount, one baron, six knights and one dame among the billionaires.
“Some have bankrolled political parties while living offshore as successive governments have failed to enact a law passed in 2009 that would have banned large donations from anyone resident abroad for tax purposes,” says the newspaper.
Of the £5.5m donated to parties by Britons living in tax havens and their British firms since 2009, more than £1m was accepted by the Conservative Party in the months before the 2017 election, including £500,000 from Lord Ashcroft, who is based in Belize, claims the paper.
The Times says: “It is inequitable and unconscionable when the very wealthy can influence British public policy while not being subject to it in the same way as everyone else.”
By becoming non-UK resident for tax purposes, the super-rich can avoid 38.1% in UK income tax on dividends and 20% in capital gains tax on the sale of shares.
Although HMRC said it did not have official figures on how much this costs, past estimates have suggested the UK misses out on £1bn of tax a year from those living in Monaco alone.
Last year, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, one of the wealthiest men in Britain and founder of the Ineos chemicals group, was revealed to be moving to Monaco and working with accountants on a legal tax-avoidance plan that experts say could deny the Treasury up to £4bn.

So the UK charges the wealthy with high tax, pushing them offshore, and then complains about lost revenue streams that shouldn’t exist in the first place, like capital gains tax.

So those who can dont pay their fair share, who pays more to make up the difference ?
The option is to cut public services, see the thread on knife crime.

If there was no capital gains tax (CGT) then you would just get asset price inflation and a reduction in the tax take from income tax and national insurance.

There needs to be some parity and fairness in the taxation of “income” in its widest sense so as to avoid creating incentives which distort the way people behave. Abolishing CGT would make the self employed and company directors richer at the expense of employees who can’t so easily elect to take some of their earnings as equity.

Interesting day in Politics.....There were No Terrorists during the NI ' Troubles'. ! No-one tried to blow Up Mountbatten or Thatcher did they? !!

Diane Abbot is 'Not Coloured' She must be Black or White then ? Unless they are not Colours either ? Do we go Red when embarrassed. Have you ever heard a Chinaman complain about being 'Yellow' ? They are a shade of Brown or White depending what area. Then there are a lot of Pink people around!
Its all gone a bit silly! I get a bit fed up being referred as ' white'....im not ill ffs! If I was Diane id be far more insulted by being thought of as Thick or Fat!

What do you mean by "their fair share"? If the tax percentage is fixed then the wealthy will already pay a lot more. Do you believe success should be punished?

Instead of constantly making villains of the wealthy we should be appreciative of the much needed revenue that they bring to the country.

Corporatism and tax benefits to be corporations should be revised. We need entrepreneurs with business ideas to come into the market on a level playing field.

So why not just tax it in the same way as income? Ordinary people need to be encouraged to take equity and look after themselves rather than rely on the state to bail them out, especially with the rapid increase in pensioners.

I understand how much tax the big financial companies bring in to the UK - the ramifications of voting to leave and the possible slow drip feed of businesses out of the UK is another factor that wasn't flagged up properly in the pretty average remain campaign.

The national budget for provision of national infrastructure and services assumes income based on legislation which sets the tax rates.
If people dont like the tax rates use democratic means to get them changed.

Who should pay more to make up the shortfall from tax evasion?

You do realize that HMRC has provisions for those that wish to pay a bit more than their share .
I’m assuming that with all your talk about who should be paying what you would have taken advantage of that service at least once in your lifetime ...right ?

BTW tax evasion is illegal if you have information that these “wealthy “folks running off to Monaco or whatever illegally I suggest you contact the authorities .
