Even the politicians are admitting it's down to climate change. Despite their recent poor showing, the Green Party are going to make a comeback now.

Unfortunately, the Greens are absolutely off their rocker.

Plus many in the UK, with good reason, don't see the point of sacrificing their way of life and tanking the economy for a fraction of a percentage (and dramatically falling as a percentage) impact.

As a nation we're largely passengers.

What was the great Oxidation down too Stan? or the Asteroid that took out the Dinosaurs. Climate change from human lust?
Not to worry, mate, we’re part of the next extinction despite ostriches like Kudos. We’ve destroyed the planet and the planet will have its revenge. It’s what we deserve.

Seem to have gone from a save energy mentality to using up more and more electricity for social media, gaming and other tech while hot tubs, patio heaters and wood fired ovens become the vogue outside and do even more damage. One dog doesn’t seem enough but two seems to be the standard which is the equivalent to the impact of extra cars.

lifestyle isn’t helping!

When was the save energy mentality 'golden age' in your opinion?

If you think one tiny island with 0.8% of the world's population returning to the dark ages will have any impact on global climate you're extremely blinkered. It's not like if we all lived in mud huts the UK would become immune to the effects.

USA and Canada are right up there in carbon emissions with China and India looking at an explosion in both populations and per capita carbon emissions.

Our only chance to influence the fate of the planet is by "we" the nation coming up with solutions that "we" the nation can introduce to "we" the planet. "We" the nation can't do that unless we have some semblance of a functioning country.

Having a drum circle on London Bridge might be a fun act of group masturbation but you're not saving anything.

I don’t think there was a golden age as there was never a time when we enough was being done but my point was that there was a growing awareness of the issue.
