not messing about with some big early deals

andros townsend and steve mandanda today, plus leading the race for benteke and west ham's centre half tomkins

showing their intent to avoid a repeat of last season's looking over their shoulders at the relegation zone - american investment talking?

Agreed, and so far we look weak.

It's 1st July. 'So far' is still very early days in the transfer window.

Plus, last year many looked at the transfers on paper made by the likes of Newcastle, Leicester and Villa and horribly misjudged how their season's would go.

Of all the signings to come to the PL from France last year, none proved to be better than Kante for about £5.5 million.

Prior to playing us on Boxing Day, the media were writing about them qualifying for Europe. They fell to pieces, and ended up looking over their shoulder as you put it.
