Non - Pandemic

The worrying thing about the origin of this thing is that you can't rule anything out when it comes to the actions of the Chinese state. We all laugh about the accuracy of their official death toll but its possible that it is a fraction of every other country. This could be because of they way they cynically treat their citizens or because they were prepared for it.

There's no doubt that many countries, including ours and definitely including china actively research biological weapons. There's no doubt China will emerge stronger economically from this. I've no idea where it came from, deliberately releasing it sounds far fetched but who knows?

The people of Bolton, Blackburn, Leicester, Bedford etc. seem a little confused about the latest "guidance". Communication from the government as clear as mud........again.

Terrible communication yet again but tbh telling people to take more care in at-risk areas is the right approach compared to local lockdowns etc.

At some point people will just have to be left to make their own minds up about what they want to do and the government should just inform them of the risks.

The source and spread of the pandemic is a separate topic to the performance of the UK government in managing uk emergency and disaster planning.

Cummings now seems to moving Boris to the top of the scapegoat list.

Now how did I know you would say that .
Remind us again who you voted for Jim .

Uk democracy includes the principle of secure secret vote at the ballot box.
Elected members and government represent all citizens not just those who voted for them.

How did the daily mail vote would be just as much a poor attempt at deflecting from the performance of the government.

Almost as if the boris apologists are distracting from a u turn over local shutdown or no shutdown....

Whether you like it or not the government is going to come out of this with mixed reviews. Not everyone ignores where they've done well and concentrates on their shoddy leadership.

The priority of the PM is to fool enough of the people enough of the time to win election.
The far reaching independent inquiry or enquiry will take years to identify the scapegoats

The job of the PM and his government is to lead the nation. The leadership has been negligent and incompetent.

The vaccine rollout is the comfort blanket for those putting forward the done well case.

Nearly 40,000 jobs have been lost after a wave of high street names were sold off to private equity firms, it has been reported.
The vast cuts are said to be responsible for a third of all redundancies in shops, pubs and restaurants.
Previously it was reported that so-called 'pandemic plunderers' have sunk their teeth into some £36bn of Brit businesses, sold off since the coronavirus outbreak.

the Daily Mail reports that 26 of the 67 large high street operators that announced job losses during the pandemic were either in private equity hands, or had been.
These were said to have represented a total of 37,609 axed jobs since March last year, from a total of 109,783 which were lost.

So the alternative to private equity firms buying them up was.............................................................................yes, Bankruptcy. Which would you prefer? Covid has certainly speeded up the decline of the High St but it was well underway years ago.

Johnson is indeed an incompetent leader. The vaccine programme has been a success and the High Street is in the middle of massive structural change and has been for decades.

As I say Jim, most people aren't looking for only one angle.

While we are keeping it on a Political plane..I see now that there is an apparent .. 'Islamaphobia ' jamboree going on in the Conservative Party.
And stiil you got Cum' inick Dumbings giving it Welly....Johnson will just do a couple Ronaldo step- overs...and carry on with his agenda.... his detractors need a better plan than they are currently pursuing -( In and Out of the Party) if they want to Unseat him!

All the Leadership positions around Europe are filled by Cnuts...so best we let it all ride for now !

No surprise shops are closing/job losses.

As SDD mentioned, high st has been in decline for a while and certainly wouldn;t have been helped by the ongoing lockdowns - which many people on here wanted. Let the economic fallout begin.

Come now Jim if you had any faith in your convictions you wouldn’t be hiding behind the secrecy of the ballot box , particularly on an anonymous messageboard . Your the one and only poster that feels it’s below then to talk about their own voting record and it’s a pretty cowardly way to debate politics to be honest .... far easier to just snipe .
