Nothing like appealing to core (racist) voters . If you dont vote for us, we'll give you all the migrant centres until you do!!Wow, next step, putting the green voters in there with them? What the actual **** is this?

That'll be my brother, standing for Reform in MoordownFair few reform signs up in gardens driving through Moordown yesterday en route to the game.
Are they expected to get a few more councillors in BCP Thursday? No elections in Dorset council area
Its also really strange to be standing on a platform of immigration for town council seats that have zero power or connection to immigration. That'll be my brother, standing for Reform in Moordown
Greens (who currently hold 2 seats with good majority form last election) have withdrawn, I assume a tactical thing to consolidate the anti reform vote to Lib Dems (but happy to be educated if there is another angle).
He and I had our first full on political 'discussion' last week. Interesting, but in my view, he just demonstrated all the reasons why people shouldn't vote for them.
I admire anyone who stands up and exercises their right to express opinion, and go further by standing for election based on those opinions, but if you live in Moordown area, please don't. Detain and Deport cannot be the sole perpose of existing
But isnt that Reform all over. Sprout enough crap on the single agenda, they think they will get voted in whereverIts also really strange to be standing on a platform of immigration for town council seats that have zero power or connection to immigration.
And they will...But isnt that Reform all over. Sprout enough crap on the single agenda, they think they will get voted in wherever
Quite sad really.....

He appeals to a lot of elderly 'get every one of those immigrants outs' voters who currently receive a pension, so no surprise he refuses to engage in the triple lock debateSo far we've had shed loads of Lib Dem material through the door but nothing from anyone else. I seem to recall last time the locals were tight between them and Reform, so I get them throwing letters at us. I can't say I am impressed about the Lib Dem led local town council shenanigans. But if I'm somewhere roughly centre-right but neither Kemi's Torys nor Reform are going to give me much to go on, I'm not going to vote for either blindly. So no clue currently.
Seeing as this is a Reform thread, in recent weeks I've thought...
Negative: Refusal to look at the pension triple lock. Electoral calculus says it's in Reform's interest not to go near this. But I will state outright that there is no route out of reforming the UK economy that doesn't involve reforming the triple lock pension, especially in a world where inflation is looking dicey. The maths doesn't maths - as the kids say. I say that as someone who doesn't expect to receive that when I get there, for the same reason. Day 1 of reforming the economy rests on doing away with the triple lock to reduce the trajectory of deficit spending - in my opinion. Tin hat required here I expect.
Positive: I listen to Times Radio and their history section a lot, loved it for years. Their military history mainstay is Rear Admiral Dr. Chris Parry, and he's standing for Reform. Now one thing I dislike about Reform is that it is (still seemingly) little much more than a Farage soapbox party. Which is fine for a protest or single issue vote. But if it ever wants to be a realistic party of Government, it has to be far bigger than one man and his ego, it needs a cast of senior figures. So seeing someone of that ilk who I have respected for ages, randomly come out as a Reform candidate, is an interesting touch.
Negative: Farage pushing for full time return to sites and offices as opposed to flexible and home working. 5 days a week physically at work is gone, many businesses themselves are all considering their office space outgoings, most places by now have found a balance that works, even if there's still some tweaking at the edges and some bosses who are more particular about it. I happen to like heading in a lot partly so I can see as much of the team as possible, I like my team to have the flexibility, I don't want any politician of any party butting in on working arrangements when there's so much more to be getting on with.
Anyway - some tuppance worth there after a long day of DIY.
