Although the town council elections for Poole, Broadstone and Bournemouth dont affect me , I'll still be watching for the results. When Mille Earl announced that town councils would be introduced against the wishes of the majority of residents she also stated that the new town councillors should be impartial in their political views. She recently announced ced that she, herself, would be standing for the Newtown area. No political bias there then. Allowing the Lib Dems control of both the 3 town alliance and the new town councils will be seriously damaging to your pocket !! As BCP try and push more and more services on to the new town councils without serious opposition to them they will have carte blanche meaning higher precepts every year with no reduction to BCP council tax charges. In fact, BCP will continue to raise council tax charges year on year at the maximum allowed by the Government. It's scarily bad for BCP residents pockets ! In Broadstone, Lib Dem councillor Peter Sideaway stated that he didn't agree with the new TC's and wouldn't vote in favour of them , and indeed stand as a TC councillor if they were introduced. Recently on a local Lib Dem flyer the very same Peter Sideaway was pictured grinning next to Vikki Slade as he announced he was standing as a Lib Dem town councillor. Vikki Slades husband , Paul Slade, a current serving BCP councillor for Creekmoor ,also announced the will be standing as a Lib Dem town councillor for Broadstone. No political bias in the new TC's then Millie. I expect they will win some councillors and their puppets , the Poole People's Party, will also won some but I'm expecting lots of votes for Reform with most people fed up with Labour and the Conservatives standing in only a handful of wards as they were fully against these new TC's. Thursday will be interesting indeed.
