Non - Ukraine

Yes now both Finland and Sweden joining NATO is a big move.

Turkey having at one point tried to be more on the fence, seemingly now more behind their NATO position. Also talking about providing some maritime shipping assistance for grain through the black sea to get that moving again.

It all won't help fears in Moscow about NATO surrounding them, but they've somewhat brought it on themselves here!

Nato states have said Ukraine can join the military alliance "when allies agree and conditions are met" after President Volodymyr Zelensky criticised the "absurd" delay to accession.

In a communique, Nato said it recognised the need to move faster but would not be drawn on a timeframe.

Earlier Mr Zelensky said there seemed to be "no readiness" to invite Ukraine to Nato or make it a member.

Think this story deserves a bump of this thread.

When Olena Matvienko's daughter was killed in a missile strike and her grandson stolen by Russian soldiers, she risked everything to bring him back. This is her story.

With all that is negative in the World at the moment, maybe some positive signs for the future.

Russia is "ready for talks" on the post-conflict settlement of Ukraine, Russian defence minister Sergei Shoigu has said at a military forum in Beijing this morning.

Speaking at the Xiangshan forum, China's largest annual military diplomacy event, Mr Shoigu added that Russia was also ready for talks on further "co-existence" with the West, Russia's TASS news agency reports.

But he warned that the West was seeking to potentially expand the conflict in the Asia-Pacific region.

"In case the necessary conditions are created, we remain ready for political discussions on a realistic basis - both on the post conflict resolution of the Ukrainian crisis, and on the further coexistence with the West as a whole," he said.

I wish it was a positive sign but I’m not convinced. We know from the past 18 months how Russia likes to spin the positive narrative, only to do the opposite.

And I think an agreement is going to be very difficult to reach when, as a minimum, Russia will want a commitment from Ukraine not to join NATO, and she will also want to retain all the territories they currently and illegally possess, including the all-important Crimea. I just can’t see Ukraine agreeing to this, and nor should they as it will continue to leave them exposed.

Pretty sure the Red Amy chant/song was canned due to the war.

Also we have Zabarnyi.

Like all things woke, it was frowned upon.

I know you're a bit delicate the moment so will probably get all bent out of shape for a simple correction but...
  1. Are you able to comment on why the ‘Nonny chant’ was suddenly removed from the pre-match atmosphere?
JF assured supporters that if the topic was something the club could comment on, it would. JF advised the chant wasn’t removed because the club doesn’t like the chant, or because of any connotations of its wording. JF said it’s simply not appropriate to answer. The club welcomes supporters continuing the chant at kick-off.
