Truly a finger-biting night that one. The relief that we had scraped through was as great as either of the two great escape seasons. The celebrations were huge.

21 years ago? Seems like only 20!

A Saturday night fixture. Very few of us there, maybe a coach load ? But it was, after 5 long years, my first away victory ! I didn't go often in those days, just the usual half dozen "local" away games per season and we were woeful.

Tried to 'take' the Britannia..big mistake.Well we didn't we just ambled in there, they thought we were trying to.

The club gave us the Brighton Beach and shoved them all in the MS. I thought the attendance was higher but I guess not.

To this day , the Auto Windscreens second leg v Walsall remains the best match I’ve attended for atmosphere, tension , drama and physical and emotional exhaustion- an unbelievable night !
After such a comfortable first leg we froze on the night and Boli and co had us reeling ...but the boys fought back hard and what an ending!
Quality night . UTCIAD
