Opponents we feared the most

Great thread!! Love the ones that took us apart then we signed, very few years where we had the money to do that but Ritchie, Rooster Russell, the brilliant Paul Wood and *cough* Jordan Ibe spring to mind. Fletch also bullied us which led to Pulis liking him. Charlie Daniels also excellent against us.

Marc Pugh would also fall into that category.

James Vaughn loved a goal against us.
Tommy Mooney was normally guaranteed to bag at least one in our net.
Scott Dann must have only scored around 5 goals his whole career, pretty sure they’ve all been against us.
Jack Lester in his Chesterfield days was a nightmare to play against.
Lee Trundle for Swansea we never seemed to be able to deal with.
Billy Painter scored for fun against us for numerous clubs, most notably Port Vale, Swindon and Doncaster. This one was especially frustrating because he was a donkey.
Andy Williams of Swindon caused us endless problems also, along with Gareth Roberts.
Nathan Tyson was also pretty nailed on to score against us.

As others have said Bobby Barnes. Couldn't believe our luck when we eventually managed to sign him but he was a bit Meh ! for us.

Kevin Francis - tall Stockport striker who IIRC once fell on and flattened the big man as a result of an aerial challenge! The rest of our team seemed shite scared of him after that!

Brett Angell - remember going to Notts Co away and we seemed to be shite scared of him! Scored a hat trick in about a quarter of an hour IIRC!

..and Dave Bamber when he was at Swindon.

Brett Angell
Jamie Cureton
Kevin 'Bloody' Lisbie (Gillingham and orient away)

They are my main ones - the PL stars don't really count.
