Player of the Year

Kellyville Red

Reserves
Have to admit I’ve been really struggling with this. Of course that’s a good thing, right?!

I try to avoid recency bias - how they played in April shouldn’t mean more than how they played on August. In saying that I understand why some would pick Hilly as he’s clearly made a key difference.

I also get the consideration of Scott but up Christmas I wasn’t sure.

To some extent this is a popularity contest so Kroupi will figure highly but not for me.

I look at consistency and how difficult that player is to replace if they are missing. For that reason I would probably look at Senesi, Truffert, Jimenez, Tavernier and Evanilson.

Eva hasn’t got the numbers he deserves although I think he’s been brilliant. Senesi has really caught the eye but often for things other than defending which is his day job.

Jimenez and Tav have both been outstanding and vital in many games but I think for me I’m just going to lean towards Truffert.

Rock solid in 90% of games, increasingly more of an attacking threat, hugely consistent in what he’s given us and would have been very tough to replace if it hadn’t worked out. For me, a fantastic first season and he’ll only be better next year.

Thoughts?

I think you've summed up the main contenders well. As I say mine is Scott but I wouldn't disagree with anyone picking Hill.
Others in with a fair shout of top three for me would be Tav, Senesi or the fullbacks. Adams is a bit of an unsung hero too.

Yes Scott for me too
Has really blossomed this season and reckon he’ll be the next to move on to bigger things

Senesi, with Scott close behind for me.

Hill - most improved (in a class of his own)

Tough call, you could make a case for:

Hill - breakthrough season and got us out of a hole
Scott - coming of age season.
Senesi - model professional when leaving. Leading assists, fully committed
Kroupi - fantastic debut season
Jimenez - fantastic debut season in a position we have struggled to recruit for
Truffert - fantastic debut season

Wouldn't be unhappy with any of them winning.

Really tough call this year and it will be a split vote I’m sure. For me for doing it from day one when he owned Salah it’s Truffert. Hardly missed a minute and is always on form.

He narrowly pips the other full back Jiminez in my book for just some extra consistency.

That for me edges it ahead of those that have been brilliant since Xmas. Scott who would have got it had season started in Jan, Senesi (ditto but can’t ignore goals against record early season) Petrovic (see Senesi) and Hill (amazing impact for half a year)

Scott, Truffert and Senesi the only outfield players with 30+ PL games. I'd say Truffert and Senesi have performed well all season. Scott has improved immeasurably throughout.

I'd be happy with any of them, but would favour Truffert as he seems to rarely make a mistake. Great going forward and an excellent defender.

Really hard to pick between Scott and Hill.

Scott has been great all season, but the impact Hill had when he started for us in January has been exceptional.

A lot of other great performers too in Senesi, Truffert, Jimenez, Kroupi.
