BIRMINGHAM INTERESTED IN DEENEY

Birmingham City one of three clubs interested in signing Watford striker Troy Deeney, though no formal talks have taken place yet.

Watford released a statement on Thursday explaining the club are in discussions with Deeney over his future. It is hoped a resolution can be found in the next 24 hours.

One option is an agreement with Deeney whereby he becomes a free agent, allowing him to move outside the transfer window.

OBAFEMI ESPECTED TO LEAVE SOUTHAMPTON

Michael Obafemi is expected to depart Southampton before the deadline, most likely on loan.

Blackburn have been in talks to sign him but they are not the only club interested.

Fulham and Bournemouth are also reportedly keen on the striker.

Saints will be quiet now in terms of incomings – they are only able to bring in another player on loan – but several of their youngsters could also go out on loan themselves.

Sky Sports News has been told they are not trying to sign Daniel Jebbison from Sheffield United, contrary to reports.
