16 Premier League B teams will be taking part next season.

PS. The logo for the football league is just awful! I thought it was the new League Cup sponsor, an energy supplier or cleaning company.

We won't be in it as far as I understand it as we're not in the correct category.
 
Not sure about this. To me it feels like trying to sneak B teams into the leagues through the back door. Has there been any mention of this before anywhere? Interesting time to release the information - almost as if they want nobody to notice.

 
By right of finishing position we should be in the 16 but I have a feeling it won't work like that.

Might just be me but I really don't like the idea. Feels like a foot-in-the-door move to ultimately get a privileged few clubs with B teams included further down the pyramid.
 
No replays, no extra time , Premier League reserves, they'll be rebranding it the F.A.cup in 5 years.
 
It would be a shame if the final comprised two Premier league academy teams. This cup always gave two lower league teams a trip to Wembley.
 
We beat Dover and Aldershot as conference teams in this competition.


The Scottish version next season has SPL U20 teams, 8 non league teams and two teams each from Wales and NI

He thinks it will expose them to an atmosphere? As if people are going to travel away to watch the Under 21s play at Stevenage on a Tuesday night.

Home games will be even worse, pretty much only away fans in a Premier League ground!
