I like Bayern much more than PSG.

I used to think that, until it became the case that said English club would then go on to earn hundreds of millions more than my club, enabling them to buy our best players

I wouldn’t suddenly start supporting Arsenal, don’t really care if they lose to PSG or Bayern tbh. It’s not like Liverpool in the 70s/80s when you had many familiar faces from the English/Scottish/Irish national teams where there was at least a reason to support them against a foreign team.

Why? I feel no more of a connection towards Arsenal than I do towards PSG or Bayern simply because they play on the same island as us. They are all just other clubs to me.

Couldn't disagree more. I dislike Arsenal intensely and I'm indifferent about PSG or Munich* because I couldn't care less about foreign football. I'd still rather see English teams do well in Europe though because it reflects better on English football, not to mention the tangible benefits it brings directly to AFCB in terms of enhanced European qualification spots.

Other than a general dislike of big clubs who have entire leagues set up to enable them swallow all of the resources in their patch.
