QPR The Verdict.

Neat passing but no drive or urgency. Dismal selection at the front - how can Long do it on his own? Biggest problem (apart the defensive howlers) - yet again no onfield leadership. This is the biggest issue for me - where are the battlers? Who's showing some pride and grit?
Pearson .... on the bench. Cookie .... in the infirmary.

We were decent at times today. Very little goal scoring threat but some decent football. Problem is when the majority of your back line are an absolute liability defensively you are always likely to leak a goal or two. Mepham and Kelly are both an accident waiting to happen.
Decent where?.....we passed it better in midfield because there where so many of them that they couldn't miss each other.....we had zero goal threat as a consequence........playing our most creative player as as wing back fck me......JT would have got crucified for a cowardly set up like that.

We were plenty good enough. In total control
Of the game for 60-odd minutes until yet another brain fart from Mepham
Totally agree Glenn. Thought we were in control first half, QPR offered nothing. Long scores that chance and it’s a different game. Mepham brain fart and suddenly it’s all uphill. Very depressing. Seriously have no idea how we lost that match. No idea at all.

After today’s results that was the perfect opportunity to get back in touch with the top 2 and now we find ourselves just 3 points from 8th.

when I saw the personnel and the set up I thought it was very strange. One thing confirmed at least, Woodgate is most definitely NOT the man
I really feel today will be pivotal to our season, both in terms of confidence and momentum, especially with the other results, both above and below us in the table. An absolutely fantastic opportunity completely and utterly wasted, firstly by terrible tactics and secondly by a brain fart from an 11 million point international (supposedly) defender

Such a negative set-up from the start ... Woodgate signing has own dismissal letter, surely. At least go down fighting. In the event we surrendered the game and could have been hammered.

We played better today, in total control against a team that had won 5 of last 6. They didn't have a sniff first half and we should have been 2 up.

We didn't take our chances, then give one away needlessly, get back in it, only to leave ourselves exposed at the back and done at the end.

Disappointed but that's football.

... no drive or urgency...

And for the last couple of years it's been like this, a training session approach to the actual game that matters. A poor man's Arsenal from a few years ago.

Perhaps if we do get Henry in as manager (and with a name like that he'll probably suck big time...) he'll introduce a bit of va va voom to the team.

Pulling out of 50/50 challenges is fine if you're conserving all your energy for the high press or playing the killer ball, but not if you're just going through the motions.
We need a settled back four, and a style of play that may lose us some games, but FFS attack like your bank account won't be getting any big wages unless you do.

Poor mans Arsenal is accurate lots of passing but no progress and easily outmuscled and a very blasé attitude

So disappointed today we have had luck go our way recently but our lack of quick ball passing and extremely poor finishing is finally taking its toll
A new manager may be able to make changes and he will need to as the pack is now chasing hard on our heels

UTCIAD

No urgency other than Lerma and Surridge.

Again the match winners didnt show up, Danjuma losing possession, Stanislas wasting free kicks and not tracking back for QPR winning goal.

Goals win games, hard to see where they are coming from.

The first goal was just down to Mepham, several players including the captain should have taken control and cleared.

On the two short clips they showed of the QPR goals on Sky Sports News it appeared that we didn't have a defence. The open spaces at the back could have been breached by an under 10 team. Someone has to shake them up very quickly if we are to stay top 6.

We lost today but it was easily one of our best performances this season, certainly in the league. I'd always take a loss like today over a win like we did against Rotherham.

That formation almost beggers belief ...how could anyone who watched the last 2 games where the only bright spark has been a really solid CB pairing of CCV and Kelly suddenly decide to go with a back 3!....and pack the midfield whilst leaving one of our most creative players on the bench until the 85th minute and playing the other one as fcking wing back!......Woodgate set us up not to lose too protect his bloody unbeaten record.....he can fck off as far as i'm concerned.
