Yep agree it's obvious that we desperately need a LB.....Callum Styles from Barnsley would fit that Stacey mould imo......a bit to learn defensively perhaps but bloody exciting going forward!I'd still go with the number one target being a LB in the Stacey mould. It would allow Tindall to play his preferred formation without worrying that neither Kelly nor Rico fit that role plus we could get Zemura out somewhere to get plenty of minutes to properly blood him.
Presumably King will go so another striker/forward option will be needed in that case.
Only a few days until the new transfer window, January 2 - February 1. IN - energetic, creative midfielder, maybe striker. OUT - King.
But it's okay being linked with Khedira.Ozil and ali christ what have you been drinking
Some interesting scenarios there - love the idea of getting Delle Ali on a short-term loan ! As you say, plenty more unused assets out there in the PL. Let's show a bit of audacity.Depends on long term aim. Getting promoted will mean certain players leaving because not likely to improve enough, so we can be safe, bold, or radical in this window how much we want to prepare for next year.
Safe - just sell King and add League 1 prospect to the squad.
Bold - disrupt the squad a little by sending Travers, Zemura, Oforborh, Kilkenny and Simpson out on loan to other Championship or League 1, and then backfill with young loanees from Prem and a few temporary contracts from free agents King out. Core team unaffected but could disrupt.
Radical - sell Brooks now rather than end of season, as well as King, and pull off a mega Loan. Brooks to Spurs on Perm with Dele on loan for rest of season (can see Jose going for it), or to Arsenal with Ozil on loan (they have little to lose). Brooks is improving but inconsistent, plus if we don't make it we will get less plus if we have to reject bids, we have another head turned flop. Plenty of other out of favour Prem quality to trade for too.
Ozil is absolute waste of space, and on £350k a week. Guess we could sing delle ali is a wan£er every week. But it's okay being linked with Khedira.
Why not target players who are sat doing nothing week in week out. Unless you think we are too good for them. Who would have thought Rooney would go to Derby when he did.
These might be wrong choices, but surely it's only by considering anyone that could be released that we get best available options.
I am all ears for your counter strategy.

And for Danjuma if his hamstring is not the problem?I don't think we will bring anyone in,but would like to see a replacement for King if he does leave....
