Things I learnt from our trip to Chelsea

We are a half decent side with some flashes of excellent play

We are more savvy now. Four seasons ago we would have lost this game by a lot more

Chelsea are a very good side and are going to finish in the top two/three this season

Hazard is a class player on his day. He was excellent yesterday

Nice ground - not been since 1982

Lerma and Rico look good signings but need time

Begovic made some very good saves

Gosling does a hell of a lot of work for the team, doesn't always get his passing right but he breaks play up constantly

We give the ball away too easily

Perhaps we need another striker - that's not really very fair, we just didn't get the run of the ball

We can defend very well with a back three against a good team

We don't always get the rub of the green from inconsistent referees who book one player, in this case Gosling, for a tackle but then fails to book a Chelsea player for the same tackle later in the match (possibly because he would have had to send him off?)

The home crowd were VERY quiet for most of the match

Our away support was some of the loudest I've heard for a long time

Londoners still don't how lucky they are with the transport system. Got away from the ground on the first train after we got to the platform but had to wait for nearly THREE minutes for our next train to arrive at Earls Court.

Agree also.

The crowd were very, very quiet. First time they sang was at one nil.

Football is becoming more and more a passive spectator sport. Encouraged by the very loud music played right up to referee's whistle.

Top support yesterday.

Chances in games against the big six are a premium. We have to take them when thwy come along. Ake and Wilson had glorious chances but missed them. They score from a deflected shot on the edge of the box and its game over. Referees will never antagonise the home crowd at venues like that unless the infringements are 100% obvious to all and the top players will always be protected. Over all we did well.

Very Good summary.

I think Rico will be sensational for us
