I'll caveat my no to say if they kept it for black and white decision making only then yes. But at the moment it's a net negative influence on the game.
Offsides exactly. A punch in the face that the ref hasn't seen- ref could be sent to the monitor. Refs should still have access to replays for key incidents wherever their views were obscured (like in rugby). But the decision is to be made by the on field ref. They’re incapable of working out what a “black or white” decision is.
Goal line technology and semi automated offsides (presuming it’s quick) would be just about enough for me. We would still have the current problem of linos not waving for obvious ones and having that really annoying period until the flag does eventually go up. But maybe that’s enough of a compromise.
Or competent on field referees and assistants..............Maybe just get competent officials to man the VAR.
It will stay.
To be fair to onfield officials, they see things in real time, the VAR guys ger replays etc.Or competent on field referees and assistants..............

This for me, but go one further and say add stuff like sending off the wrong fella, not checking the decision to send off but making sure the ref has the right person.Goal line technology and semi automated offsides (presuming it’s quick) would be just about enough for me.
That’s the big thing. Who would vote to scrap it? You’d imagine Nottingham Forest and Gary O’Neil certainly would so there’s two votes (assuming Wolves would back their manager).
