I am off to watch some FA Cup football - but for anyone who wants, you still have a little time left to enter this competition.

Hi all, with something like a quarter of the season gone it seems like a good time to post the first update on this competition.

Firstly, a few points of “interest” from this seasons entries - should anyone other than me be interested.

There were 35entrants this season and I have added an extra one made up of the most selected entries for each position from the entries made to see how as a collective we fair. This extra entry is (bracket figure – no of selections out of 35):

“Most Chosen” Entry:
Premier League: Top Man City (22) - Bottom Brentford (12)
Championship: Top West Brom (9)* - Bottom Derby (14)
League One: Top Ipswich (13) - Bottom Morecombe (12)
League Two: Top Salford (9) - Bottom Sutton (11)*
National: Top Wrexham (10) - Bottom Dover (28)

* Tied numbers with AFCB & Swindon. I tossed a coin to see which to include here.

There were again some widely diverse opinions, but not as many as in previous seasons, with the following 3 teams being tipped by different entrants to finish both top and bottom of their divisions.

Premier: None
Championship: None
League One: Sheffield Wednesday
League Two: None
National: Notts County & Weymouth

I am about to post the first update with “cherrycarl2004” being the current leader by 7 points. It has to be said that the scores seem very high at this stage compared to previous seasons with the current leading score being higher than 15 of the final scores last season. This is suggesting that this season is much less predictible than previous ones.

Not sure why but seem to be having issues posting up this style of tables all of a sudden - was the same yesterday.

The division leaders are therefore being posted old style.

An update on the standings in these predictions - obviously not a 100% true reflection due to the varying numbers of games played by some. At lot of changes since the October update and as things stood at Christmas, Red_Dez just leads by one point from mymatebond and deancourt with davidwhitehead just behind them.

Clearly I’m not going to win this because of poor choices in L2, so very nice to get the mid season shout out!

An update on the standings in these predictions - still not a 100% true reflection due to the varying numbers of games played by some teams. At lot of changes again since the Christmas update. Red_Dez drops to joint 7th whilst deancourt now leads by 4 points from cherrycarl2004 with boscombe botn a further 4 points back.

So not many points in it as we go into the closing stages of the season and still plenty of chances for changes in the standings.

Yesterday saw the conclusion of the League One season with Wigan and Rotherham finally securing promotion after stuttering somewhat in recent weeks. Meanwhile, one of our old adversaries, Gillyhoof, depart back down to League Two.

Steady Eddie 1's selections of Sheffield Wednesday and Wimbledon tops the results for this division.

The conclusion of the League Two season yesterday saw Forest Green clinch the title and also a remarkable goal difference deficit turn around by Bristol Rovers to clinch the third automatic promotion spot - helped no doubt by playing the dismally performing Scunthorpe.

mymatebond's selections of Exeter and Stevenage tops the results for this division.

The conclusion of the Championship yesterday saw us finish just two points behind Fulham in the final table with Huddersfield ending up third in the end with both Middlesbrough & Millwall failing in their challenge for the play offs.

Five players share top spot in the standings for this division with four predicting Fulham & Derby and one AFCB & Barnsley.

Blimey, that’s a record to rival Dover…
