Training ground

It was stated by the club that work would start as soon as planning permission was granted. There are diggers on the site, groundworks are underway, as confirmed by various sources. There has been no change to that which the club stated in their last press release. If something had changed, of course we would expect a further statement but since everything is progressing as stated by the club WHY should they feel obliged to issue a further statement ? Or are you expecting a statement of “everything is continuing as previously stated.” every couple of weeks ???
Whilst I understand where the angst is coming from ( based on previous club ownership ) I think a lot of you are being a bit needy here.
As I posted earlier, I fully expect regular update videos once there is something worth seeing. Christ, we already did it when we put up those prefab boxes for the current training pavilion ! The current club ownership has always been upfront with us regarding issues of major interest, so I have no reason to doubt them. Until I hear otherwise I will simply presume that we are working on the new training complex as previously stated by the club.

What company commits to a £35m investment and doesn't make a song and dance about it? It's bloody weird if nothing else. This is what normal clubs do when they invest millions:

Videos, photos, details, regular updates. Blindingly obvious self-promotion.

I can't actually believe that you wrote "The current club ownership has always been upfront with us regarding issues of major interest, so I have no reason to doubt them." wtf are you talking about?

It’s all part of our policy of staying under the radar.

Absolutely, stopping the Solent forum so questions on infrastructure couldn't be asked. When the sun shines Jeff is on air, when it is cloudy he is nowhere to be seen

Have to agree with this bit certainly. Always first to pop up after good results, always in the media when there's good vibes going. Haven't seen much of him this season.

Though I understand his health hasn't been tip top, so he's not as involved as he once was.

Take a pay cut then.

“New Stadium to be built.”
“Sorry new stadium postponed, current priority is funding the squad to keep us in the PL”
“We enquired about buying back the ground but Structadene are trying to shaft us”
“Having considered filling in the corners and expanding the existing ground, for various reasons it has been decided not to further pursue this option.”
“A new training ground to be built at Canford Magna, here are the architects drawings. Aren’t they neat ???”
“Following consultation with the staff, the original plans for the training complex have been amended and the further changes submitted for planning approval. Check out the revised plans !!!”

So dear Derek, that just off the top of my head without even trying.
Hardly sounds like a club/owner trying to keep fans in the dark, does it ?

He was in the press recently wearing one of those masks... what more do you want?

Someone posted on here recently that the substructure work contractor had been appointed, so it seems we should not have been expecting any substantial work to be carried out yet. However, according to what I've seen/heard - there should be activity ASAP.

The build should be 14/15 months which would indicate that the club could expect to move in to the facility by start of July 2021.

Just seen it and heard it all before.
I walked down in December, and barely anything is different at all - so I can certainly see where you're coming from!

I gather there's only a certain amount of disclosure at the moment for good reason, hence I'm not being overly specific with the exact dates, however if they are anything to go by, I would *really hope* there will be some action this month!!
