AFC Bournemouth v Reading

Eddie used to rest lerma after international break and think JT should do the same.

We need more hunger upfront - Solanke and Stan going through the motions. Surridge might inject some passion

Reading caught us cold with that first goal, though Semedo played well to earn the penalty.

Reading with Moore back commanding his defence have defended well and are playing as a unit and hitting us on the counter attack where their second goal was well worked.

We just lack that something in the last move up front.

We're too slow, Pas the ball around the back 4 giving the opposition time to canter back and get into position. When we move forward we stop, turn around and head backwards again. Slow build up play allowing two players time to close our players down. Occasionally lump the ball up to Solanke so we can have a laugh as he slips and slides around trying to control it. Danjuma runs, stops, runs, stops, gets dizzy and gives the ball away. We are much better than this and have , individually, quality players but there is no passion in some of them. No desire it seems to get stuck into championship football. The flair is there but no cutting edge, no confidence that if the ball is delivered into dangerous areas someone, a la Wilson , will be there to tuck the ball home. Compare their front two to our powderpuff frontline. Gotta roll those sleeves up Nd get stuck in or this could be embarrassing

I‘d hoped our new offensive coach would see us playing more like Reading, runners getting in behind, two or three passes and goal !
But no. We get to their final third and have about twenty five passes from one side to the other and then backwards. No pace at all. Standing football. We can‘t beat many teams if we continue to play this way. So easy for the opposition to defend in numbers if we have no penetration.
I wish we‘d just stop trying to pass the pig‘s bladder into the goal. Where‘s the pace, where’s the energy ? Pretty grim viewing once again. Our set pieces are a waste of time. We are relying on a moment of brilliance from somebody as we have done pretty much all season. There seems to be no plan as to how we intend to get at teams. I‘m sure our play looks brilliant on the training ground but against real opposition it just isn‘t working.

Yet another corner wasted. If I was reading every time I got the ball I'd hoof it out for a corner knowing you wouldn't concede
