Non - Pandemic

This is among the most ridiculous ideas I think I’ve read lately. Cancel Istanbul, give it to them next year, play the game at Wembley and invite anyone you want. Flying 8000 across Europe with hotels, accommodation, restaurants, flights etc is absolutely crazy.
And the country is currently in lockdown. Although lockdown rules don't apply to tourists. But, those 8000 will have to quarantine on return because Turkey is likely to get amber status tomorrow.

I wouldn’t give man c and Chelsea anything. Tell em it’ll be behind closed doors and that they should consider it lucky to even be broadcast in London and Manchester.

oh yeah forgot. Can’t do anything if it punishes the fans.

Got the jab at the BiC yesterday, really impressed with the set up. A bit of a queue but was out and done in less than 45 minutes. It's knocked me on my backside today though, can't remember anything making me this lethargic, legs feel like heavy jelly! All worth it though.

Germany to allow AstraZeneca jab to be given to adults of all ages

Germany will allow AstraZeneca's COVID-19 vaccine to be given to adults of all ages, following blood clot concerns.

The country is reversing a previous decision that restricted the jab to people who are over 60 years old, health minister Jens Spahn said today.

Mr Spahn also said Germany aimed to offer 12 to 18-year-olds a vaccine by the end of August, provided regulators give approval for the Pfizer shot for that age group.

Officials previously agreed unanimously to only give the jab to people aged 60 or older, unless they are at high risk from COVID-19 or are health workers, following a recommendation from the country's independent vaccine expert panel.

Hopefully just experts being over cautious and wary rather than anything major to worry about.

Paragraph at the end of the report:

"In one cluster at a care home, 14 elderly residents who have all been vaccinated were infected with the variant, the source said. A number needed hospital treatment but not for severe disease, and it is thought all have now recovered. "

(The Guardian had 15 people affected in their report.) The people had received their second AZ jab less than a week earlier, so they weren't fully protected, and none of them were seriously ill. That's the message to shout from the housetops in that report - Indian variant in an old folks' home where the residents were not fully vaccinated, was unable to cause harm.

Denmark have now fully suspended using the Oxford and Johnson & Johnson vaccines putting their vaccine programme back by weeks.

Still haven’t seen any confirmation of that they will do with these vaccines they refuse to use.

Just to update you, Denmark doesn't receive the A/Z vaccine anymore.
The ones they do have, Poland want to buy.
A/Z were only delivering 30,000 per week.
Pfizer are now sending extra doses, 250,000 per week, next month this total will reach 350.000 per week.
By the middle of July everyone would of had their first vaccine,
By the middle of August everyone will be fully vaccinated.
J@J was never used and Moderna are only supplying 30,000 per week.

Total doses per month delivered
Feb 387.000
March 698.000
April 958.000
May 1.640.000
June 2.251.000
July 2.733.000
August 2.050.000
So far 25% of the population has received the first jab.
13.6% have now been fully vaccinated.
I will be fully vaccinated on the 17th May.

Wonder if the schools stayed open throughout it there would have been much difference?

I thought the consensus was that school infection rates usually reflected the community infection rate, so I think opening schools, in my opinion, would have been fine. In the US there is a lot of pressure from the Teachers Unions in when schools opened and/or how many days kids were in schools but this ran counter to the "science".
