VAR

Really getting worse IMO..missed red card for Havertz for dangerous play…plus a shirt pull for a penalty…FFS after denying Everton a pen v Citeh and not sending off for the Brighton keeper for a high kick on Diaz

strong case that they're biased/influenced anyway. var or no var.

The same officials operate VAR as referee in the top tier so the bias is the same.

As an advocate for the introduction to VAR, I thought it would lead to proving the bias doesn't exist by fixing those kinds of errors or highlighting that it does exist and eradicating it very quickly.

It's failed.

Premier League Chief Executive Richard Masters has confirmed that recordings of audio between Video Assistant Referee (VAR) officials and referees will be made available to fans after matches.

There has been a call for more transparency in the way decisions are made, even before the introduction of VAR, among fans, with some calls for the referees to be mic'd up in order for fans to hear the conversations. Football’s lawmakers don’t allow live broadcasts of the audio, but it has confirmed that recordings could be released after the full-time whistle.

This could actually be good. Both for the teams and fans but also, the media will love it and being able to scrutinise it we may well see a bit of change if common sense seems to be lacking with particular “laws”.
