"TEAMtalk has also learned that Dominic Solanke, Philip Billing and Lewis Cook will also get new Bournemouth contracts."

Excellent news if true ! Particularly for Lewis after all he has been through and now that he finally seems to be back to his best. Nice to see determination and persistence rewarded !

great news to get those four on new contracts
if they have buy-out clauses is that good for the balance sheet?
I've no idea how these things work and have done no research

Without knowing the extent of the pay rises, you always hope they're vaguely sensible for the club. But well deserved them all. Keeping the spine of this squad together regardless of what happens is vital I feel.

Didn't Cook sign a new deal when he was injured?

He signed one this season. There was an 'offer' where if you bought a Cook shirt he signed it. The Grandparents took advantage of this for my son. Seems early to be renegotiating, but he definitely picked up in the second half of the season.

The new contract is probably more or less out of necessity. He must be one of the few who signed a new deal when we were a Championship club. That was a new contract for a Championship player and maybe the club weren't so presumptuous as to ( or forgot to ) put PL pay rise clauses etc. into that contract.

I would imagine that this just puts him back on an equal footing with the other players still on their old PL contracts, which probably have clauses in them covering playing in either league.

Cook should be an AFCB legend by now, considering how long he has been here. Unfortunately his serious injuries mean that we haven't seen a lot of him, or when we have seen him for a prolonged spell, he was still far from "on it".
I really sincerely hope that he can have an injury free season or two playing as he finished this season. Then hopefully, he will finally start to get some proper love from the fanbase. I know he has been paid a lot for not playing a lot of football but you can't doubt his professionalism and determination to come back time and again.

I really hope we get to see him at his best for another few seasons without any further major interruptions to his progress !

Kris Temple asks Lloyd Kelly when a new manager comes in what would you like to see from him.

Basically his answer was playing the ‘Bournemouth Way’ which was good to hear.

He did mention this is the PL and you have to adapt to games.

Interesting listen, not wanting to comment on him as a player but he is not the most eloquent of speakers which is something you'd expect from your captain. He didn't want to answer how he and the squad felt about being told they aren't good enough by SP and deflected those questions when I'd have liked him to robustly state they do feel they are good enough. Confidence still in tatters?

Hmmm, I think he was lead into saying that by KT's question...

As mentioned above, Kelly is not the best speaker and I hope he's more enthusiastic and motivated about things when not speaking to the media... A pretty nothing interview as Kelly is never gonna talk about any dirt to KT...
