Best Case Scenario

What is the best case scenario we can hope for?

Not cast adrift by Christmas?
(Check)

New owner and manager?
(Check)

Apart from those two scenarios there isn't much else we can hope for.

Many a team, many a club, and many an owner have thrown money at surviving the drop.

I know we have reasons to be optimistic in the future, but Foley taking over in no way guarantees our top flight status.

Some will say they prefer the Championship, but Foley, if given the go ahead certainly has purchased a cheap PL club intent to keep their heads above the pulpit.......not a Championship one intent on getting back up.

Funds, can easily be diverted if the club can not achieve the owners ambitions.

As disappointing as results like today and last week are they aren't as bad as not being good enough to get in front in games at all.

More importantly most of us said before the season that we'd happily trade relegation for something happening with the ground so things are still looking positive on the whole.

If Foley turns out to be a dud it's terrible though.

You actually attend a game?

It matters if you aren’t going to attend a game and then call me out for my support, when I am in the Leeds away end and set off at 5 am this morning and spent a load of cash, time and efforts. I’ll back off @adam0102 I’ll log off and never lay my fingers on a keyboard again if you are going to back up your friend? So sorry to offend you….

Not my friend, I’ve had previous disagreements with him on several subjects, especially Fletch. However, you come across a bit daft calling out someone for not going to games when they live the other side of the world….

Well we're not going to be cast adrift by Christmas. After next week we may be in the bottom 3 but certainly not adrift as we won't be playing again until 27th December. I would hope by then a new manager will have been in place long enough to have worked with the players.

Some people hardly miss a match and that is admirable. However, it does not matter how many matches an individual supporter attends.

Some people are better off and the financials are of lesser consequence to those living from pay day to pay day. Some are young and a bit of sleep deprivation is no real hardship. Some people live far, far away and are fortunate to make it to any match at all. Then there are families, disabilities, age, being a carer, having to work shifts, etc. etc. There are many, many valid reasons for not being an ever-present.

The important thing is not how many tickets one has accumulated in the AFCB memory drawer at home, but the passion and commitment to following however one can. As such, everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Democracy. I like it.

He'd have to get up a bit earlier than 5am to be able to attend a game tbf. Wouldn't be cheap either.

Of course everyone’s entitled to their opinion; I’m not young, sleep deprivation affects me, I’m lucky because I can just about manage to get to 99% of away games plus all home ones but hey- others have supported AFCB far longer than me, through leaner times than me an if anyone deserves to be listened to when they rant then they do. Little bit of respect guys- I know we’re all smarting at the moment but let’s share the love we have for our club and just acknowledge we all feel the pain together. Personally, I still can’t talk rationally about yesterday’s game yet- feel too raw/embarrassed/tired/drained/annoyed/ashamed- take your pick from this basket case that is yours truly.

Back to the Bill Foley thing though- we covered this on another thread dealing with the factoring, as our PL money/ parachute payment is effectively locked up for the next two years and potentially not available to the club. I’ve absolutely no doubt Foley will be approved as fit by the EPL so rest easy on that guys. Same positive view goes for Canford and it’s exciting times ahead for the stadium too. So let’s concentrate on that for today- I think it really is exciting times to be a Cherries fan, however bad we’re feeling today. I really don’t think our capitulation yesterday will affect Bill’s plans for AFCB. Question is whether he’ll invest in the January break or let us go down and rebuild from Championship. Either way, the future is bright. Now, let’s ENJOY Tuesday night!

I think our starting 11 is actually pretty decent for the prem but it’s our bench that lets us down, we don’t have anyone you can look at and bring them on to steady the ship or chase a point if we are losing. If Foley really wants us to stay up he’ll sign two or three players to provide more competition and we can bring on if things need changing
