Tyrone Mings

"For the first couple of months, I probably did nothing but drink," he said. "Now, if you think about what’s most counterproductive to inflammation in the knee, alcohol is probably right up there. It was an awful time.

Asked about the effect of his alcohol consumption, Mings added: “(It was) putting me to sleep. It was taking me out of my reality, and my reality was that I’d lost all control of where I wanted to go.

I, like most people I presume, had no clue about this. I guess that it was a major factor in allowing his move.

Mings is a pretty good bloke, apparently, and at the time I was sad to see him go. In hindsight, I am pleased we took Villa's money.

I sussed out something wrong with Mings character traits very early in his Boscombe period... the way he talked in interviews ; I thought .... "this guy is trouble to manage".. I seem to remember getting stick on here for 'talking rubbish' about his private school attitude and tendency to disrupt - something like that iirc
I believed at the time he was overrated ..I still do !

..but then I probably still am talking rubbish. :wack:

Lol, I expect you sussed him the minute you saw him.

Lol ( my least favourite accumulation of letters but sometimes I guess it's useful )...no I actually liked Mings at first..and he was, tbf, unlucky with the long injury period...and unfairly treated over the Rooney incident...
...but I don't think EH is someone it's wise to get clever with..and that appears to have been a factor with his problems at DC.

There will be, I expect, plenty of exasperating, unfiltered, loose and cranky output from me as the season progresses.. so maybe some of the more sensitive posters will be advised to stick a lynchpin in their swivel-chairs and have some iced lemon tea close at hand !

Just seen the ManU Villa goals tonight, Mings seems to have had a terrible game. It’s amazing how often he ends up on his arse as the ball’s nestling in the back of the net

I thought the totally blind pass by Harry Maguire to an on rushing Villa player didn't inspire much confidence either, slightly better teams would have scored from that error, and in the World Cup that one mistake could prove so costly.

Looks like he’s suffered a very painful and serious injury for Villa this evening.

My non educated view is possibly ACL in his other knee to the one he did with us.

Hopefully a swift recovery for him.
Not seen the incident but the text was saying he looked in a lot of pain. Hopefully not a major one.

Remember that game against Leicester City and our second game at home in our first season in the PL and the season they won the title.

First Daniels goes off injured to be replaced by Mings in his first game PL game, Mings gets that bad injury.

Also we lost Gradel in the game to injury.

A game that stays in your memory for injuries.
