Lewis Cook

What an absolute idiot for moving his head in like that.
Of course there was no force behind it and he was never going to hurt the guy ( who then predictably fell to the ground clutching his face as if somebody had just attacked him with a hammer ) but you can’t give these devoid of common sense referees any kind of excuse to give you an easy red card.

Totally stupid and unnecessary by Lewis and I hope he gets his wages docked for a while. Absolutely fuming, so unprofessional and the last thing the team needed today :censor:

It was so stupid. We could see it from the north stand. weirdly hes never seemed to be a player like that. He gave the ref no choice. I was commenting on how well he was playing, was all over the pitch the first half, driving forward. I thought Scott had really enabled him to play a less passive game and then he goes and does that... ffs.

I like the look of Cook, Scott, Billing. Except it went to pants today. Frustrating.

Cook (and Billing frankly) are senior pros now. They need to act like it.

Maybe the first time, or at least one of a few times we’ve played with a double pivot. Think this helped defensively but offensively it did mean we couldn’t play with Tavernier and Brooks staying wide at all times and they played more centrally.

Or at least it felt like that. Would be interesting to see the average positions in the first half.

Cook was our best player until that happened...targetted for that reason to see of he reacted?

The view from the East Stand block nearest the incident (about 10-15m) was that Lewis made no attempt to head butt and no contact was made. The ref should have seen it as disgraceful cheating and booked Lewis for the tackle and the Wolves player for ungentlemanly conduct.

I was sat about 10-15m and it was a clear red from my seat!

What game were you watching lad? It wasn't a full on nut that's going to knock you down with 2 black eyes but he clearly moved his head into him and connected softly and gave ref an easy decision.

One of those that 20 years ago (maybe 30...)it woukd probably lead to mass handbags, before a yellow card was administered.

Now it's as much about the intent isn't it rather than if the player actually caused someone's nose to explode.
