Lloyd Kelly

I'm going to reality: Kelly will sign a pre contract agreement with an Italian team in January, but as he's more Lerma than King in his attitude will remain a good player for us until the end of the season.

Sorry, the last bit was far too positive! I can't do it like the expert☹️

I would argue that Senesi has better distribution than Kelly. Also, based on the last two games, Senesi is on track for 18+ goals this season.
Imagine what he would score if he played for Fulham or Brentford, and their habitual 8 penalties a season

Edit. I'm still drunk, I thought that said Solanke initially!

That doesn't make sense.

Your football predictions are naff. Now, you've progressed to player contracts.

On that basis, I'm expecting Kelly to sign a new deal.
Highly unlikely. If we wanted to stay he would have signed by now. He will off like a rat out of a drain pipe in January if not then, at the end of the season.

Only in your warped reality
It may have escaped you that rats can run in both directions within a drain pipe i.e. both out and up (depending on the position of the drain pipe). They can also run in one as well.

Nothing warped about that I feel. Unless the drain pipe is warped, then transit through the whole of the pipe may prove a little tricky.

Rat Reality and Realism right there !!!
Rats can go in/out or up/down at will.

Would Matt Stevenson be so kind as to post a heat map of rats entering and exiting drainpipes, just to illustrate the point ?
Thanks in advance Matt

My vote for post and also thread deviation of the year. Hands down.

Posted 30 minutes ago. Would they post it if he was going?

(For those who find links difficult, this is direct to a YouTube video of Llloyd Kelly doing a Ball Swap Challenge. ;-)

As we move towards January and a potential sale of Lloyd Kelly it feels relevant to look at our defensive numbers over the last 2 seasons in the EPL, to see what effect he's had on the lineup.

When starting at CB: 39 goals conceded in 19 games or 2.05 goals per game.

When starting at LB: 16 goals conceded in 13 games or 1.23 goals per game

When not in the starting lineup: 49 goal conceded in 25 games or 1.96 goals per game

The smallest sample size here is the best result. When Lloyd Kelly plays LB we've been very good defensively. While there's almost not change to our defensive abilities when he's at CB or not playing.

Basically, do you think he's so much of an upgrade on Kerkez, and apparently Dango, that they should hold onto him and lose him for nothing in the summer? Is he that much better at LB than them?

He needs to sign a contact or go in Jan in time for us to replace, much as I rate him as a player. We can’t have another walk away.

The interest in him has been speculative and those clubs now heavily linked with other players so my fear is it won’t materialise and we will end up having him for rest of season and him walking in the summer.
