Ticket problems, re-Luton game rearranged

fore15

Reserves
Our tickets for the rearranged Luton game turned up this morning. Slight problem, since the abandonment of this game, the club have introduced safe standing and we have moved to the south stand. The reason we moved was because my wife cannot see the pitch if everybody is standing up. The tickets that turned up this morning are for our old seats in the North stand, in the middle of safe standing. I thought I would ring the club this morning and see if we could sit in our new seats to be told, I’m terribly sorry all seats for this game have been sold, you will have to put up with the Northstand. There was no offer of help at all. There’s no point in my wife going to the game because she won’t be able to see it and I don’t want to go without her. Is this really how we are going to be treated in the future, being a loyal supporter for the last 50 years doesn’t mean anything.

That does appear to be a shabby way of doing things.

Maybe there are two people on here who might want to move to the standing area and do a swap?

That would be a good outcome, but, it would have been nice if the club had instigated this. Then again , the supporters will always be at the heart of this club, no matter where we end up UTCIAD.

Par for the course of my experience with the ticket office since demand started outstripping supply.

Fingers crossed you can get a seat elsewhere in the ground. Maybe someone from the left side of the North Stand would be up for a swap as they'll likely to get extra attention from the stewards if they want to stand.

We can but hope that someone from the club reads this board and brings the real life problems we have to suffer to the attention of Jim or the new ticket supremo.

I'll ask my brother if he'd be happy to swap with you.

Collateral damage was something that they clearly were happy with from the start.

You were referred to as “limited number of season ticket accounts”, not people, not supporters… accounts, basically just a number.

I think Jim said it was 60 seat holders that moved and triumphed that as a small percentage. Ignoring each story of why a long term supporter has to be shunted about at short notice.

There’s little else I can add, it (the introduction of safe standing in the north stand) should have been dealt with better but empathy is in short supply or appears to expire with time for some (as we’ve seen on the older thread).

(Edit - to add some clarification.)

Weren't there fans on here that were pleased with Safe Standing being implemented in the North Stand even though they don't sit there. I am sure they will step forward and swap. It is for the greater good.

Poor. They knew who the people who requested to move from their NS seat were and clearly should have anticipated this issue.

That points been made a couple of times without the need to try and dredge up the point. This is about helping someone.

Rob,
Our story that was linked to this thread about Luton says we WILL try to help move folks in this exact scenario. As you said, it is about helping someone S we are trying to do. Here is word for word the club contemplating trying to help folks move seats for this rearranged fixture, or if not satisfied, even offering a refund option:

“If you would like to request a relocation, please contact the ticketing team to discuss available options. Please note, since the original match date reached all tickets issued, a relocation is based on availability and unfortunately not guaranteed.

If you are a season ticket holder in Safe Standing and prefer to opt-out of this match, you can request to cancel your ticket for this match, and you’ll be eligible to receive a credit equal to 1/19 of your season ticket package.”

The supporter in this thread needs to put the request in to the ticket office. Once we hear back from everyone to see if they are keeping the seats they bought for the original Luton match, or not, then we can follow up with those requesting to move. It’s unfortunate the match was rearranged. It’s unfortunate it happened in the middle of the safe standing timing. But it’s not the club ignoring it I can assure you.

Hello. Who did you speak to at the ticket office? Did you ask them to be notified once we know about potential seats opening if folks who bought the original match aren’t able to come for the rearranged match. I’ll ask them to contact you back. Please just let me know your name or account number. You can private message and will have the ticket office person contact you back.

Thank you for the reply Jim. My comments were based on the original post stating they had already contacted the Ticket Office.

I'm sure a rearranged fixture throws up all kind of issues, and these have been exacerbated by the rail seat implementation. That was why I suggested reaching out to other fans on here.

It's going swimmingly well.....

I don't have a season ticket, nor a regular seat.

I would possibly like my couch moved to accommodate dangerous seating and the problems that go with it.

You can't have safe standing, and then just bypass dangerous seating.

As an example, my couch is possibly too far away from the TV on Match day, but too close to the fridge.

Dangerous seating is the elephant in the room.

Jim, sort it.
