AFC Bournemouth v Leicester City - Fifth Round FA Cup

He just didn’t look up for it. He was slow and laboured but to be fair he wasn’t the only one. I hate to do it but I have to question our manager here. Did he tell them to take it easy and not get injured or booked? I know I’m speculating but something went badly wrong out there tonight.
good, someone questioning AI. Really poor substitution decisions with ouattara billing and Scott all staying on too long

Our attacking seems far too formulaic when at times long for the sort of creativity that won the game for them. However, feel our most creative players are going backwards under AI such as tav, billing, brooks and even Scott. In contrast, the hardworking cook and christie seem to be starring

Tonight was a massive let down but clear players worked hard so no need to boo. We have so much attacking talent but increasingly look blunt. Next 3 games are massive for us now.

Would keeping Udal on have been worth the risk? Really poor poor finishing from others.
Lame performances from Scott, Billing, Tav, Semenyo, Dango in particular. All looked leggy and couldn't hit a barn door with shots blazed everywhere but where they should be. A very disappointing evening.
Unal was injured when he was flattened in the first half. Gone to hospital for a check on his shoulder. Did that challenge go to VAR?

We had 27 chances. Nothing wrong with the system. This one on recruitment. How can we sign so many average forward players that can’t shoot…

I don't think we had loads of great chances. Only 4 were on target. They weren't high value chances as I'm sure the xG will show. Besides it doesn't really matter, Iraola needs to pick the players and tactics that will start winning us games.

If they can’t shoot you can pick who you want it won’t make much difference. Dango, Kluivert, Faivre, Sinisterra…. Bang average… and our injury prone centre forward….. got injured first start.

Another Sloe Gin Richard?

I thought Semenyo was good other than when he was up front.
Agree, square pegs and round holes spring to mind. Far better out wide as we saw against Ake at the weekend.
AI got it wrong tonight but there was enough experience and first team players playing in the right position to win.
Move on and get Sinisterra starting at the weekend instead of Tavs who has be away with the fairies for a couple of months now - don't know what has happened to him but a shadow of himself lately.

Your silly paint-by-numbers trolling isn't worth bothering with at this point.

It's simple, he needs to sort it out and find the best tactics and selections with the players he has - he managed it before and now he's got to arrest this poor run of form in front of goal.

The talent is there. Tonight was a mess. That isn’t on Richard Hughes

Writing off sinisterra is bizarre.

Underwhelming for sure, but need to understand the context.

They had 4 days to prepare, while we had 2, which means had to change anyone in the team who had a backup.

Tough for those who play less to come on all at once and produce something of high quality against a team that is easily PL level.

It's not like introducing one or two changes; the whole attack was different.

Both of those 'teams' will probably feature/ fester in the PL relegation battle next season as they get 'found out'.

Sorry this is around 4.30 am, middle of the night bingo...but it came up in a dream/ nightmare jobby what I was having ! :(

Hardly a nostradamus like prediction is it.

We lack quality in attack.

Most PL teams have several world class players, we have 1, Solanke.

Tavernier has been off the pace the whole season.
Kluivert has been average, but ok.
Outtara looks like he won a competition to play in the PL
Semenyo has been bright, not too bad.
Sinisterra hasn't really looked overly great.
Billing can at least shoot, but his attempts at challenging for headers was at times laughable.
Scott hasn't looked that great.

Kerkez played well, and is the way forward.
Zabanyi has been a good signing.
Smith always plays pretty solid.
Senesi likewise.
Cook usually pretty good.
Unal a bit early to tell let's hope he hasn't crocked himself.
Christie always pretty good, but again can't shoot.

At this level we have so many players who just can't hit the target often enough, Outtaras shooting is usually woeful.

We have signed plentiful attacking players but none who damage the opposition.

Ah, didn't realise he was that knocked about. Watching the incident on TV he fell awkwardly onto his left shoulder. Not a pen in my view. A real shame for Unal.
Let's hope he is OK.

From the little we have seen of him he has looked pretty good given he has been out for such a long time.

Would be unfair to judge him as an injury prone player if he has succumbed to a shoulder injury.

Upper limb injuries are rare for footballers as obviously it's usually the lower limbs.

But in a shower of shyte yesterday he looked one of the better ones.

With Solanke carrying a knock and Unal sent to hospital for a scan, fingers crossed we don't get hit with a double blow.

Looking at yesterday's plan C, it could put us in trouble.

Amazingly it's taken from August till January to have any sort of back up for Solanke.

We've so far been very lucky, so let's hope we aren't dealt a double upper cut.

Tbh we looked shot,I think the Man City game took a lot from us!
That said Philip,Tav,Scott and Semenyo looked particularly poor…not sure that we shouldn’t have loaned Scott and Philip out instead of Brooks and Rothwell?

Trying not to allow sentiment for Brooks to bias me and allow for the fact it's early days for Faivre.... but Brooks out for Faivre doesn't currently look great either.

I think that was the issue with the game. Although we did fluff 2 or 3 big chances it's reductive to suggest 27 shots 4 on target has to solely be the quality of the finishing. So many shots were in a crowded box but if we didn't take them then the argument would be that we didn't shoot enough.

I thought the work rate generally was excellent we just didn't have that movement and pressure up top to disrupt Leicester's organisation.
