That's why you go to watch your team

Also everyone knows we played badly so why boo the team and shout insults at them. Had this discussion before.
I dont get it... Walking down the steps of the NS a minute before the half-time whistle and some dude was stood behind the net gobbing off at Neto... Whilst he was stood literally the other side goal... Some of our fans are just brain dead...

Absolute knob. Did he really think that this would motivate Neto? Just show boating for the North Stand trying to prove he cares more than anyone else does. Bellend.

You could make a strong argument it worked.
Alternatively you could argue it was coincidental.
What’s impossible to argue is that it was detrimental.

He's a strange guy, (unless of course he reads this, then he's a salt of the earth, entitled to his opinion type of guy) always looks very angry, often shouts at the goalkeepers, angrily)
I don't know if he does it deliberately but last night when Tom Lockyer came on the pitch pre-match, he looked around and stood directly in front of my wife. One of the few people that couldn't stand to applaud.

And no, I didn't shout or ask him to move. We tried that a couple of seasons ago, he just gets angrier and more aggressive. I'm a sort of "takes all kinds to make the world ( and a football crowd) type man but sometimes I look at people and think "What is going on in their lives" : )

I may be misinterpreting, but I feel some of the players are certainly reacting now to the negative responses from the crowd. Given how that second half went, it was noticeable how few players came over towards the North Stand at the end. Also, have a look right at the end of the "alternate angle" video and see the gesture from Adams towards the NS after celebrating the fourth goal with the other players. Does not look to me as though he was at all impressed, presumably with crowd reaction then compared to the booing at half time.

It was also posted on here that Tav made a gesture towards the NS in the Sheff Utd game in response to something. I get that he has been in poor form, but you cannot question his effort and, IMO, as long as the players are putting that in they should get full support.

Some fans appear just do not appreciate what they are getting to watch these days.

One reason over the many years of watching your team, there was some really dire football, but as fan you came back for more hoping each season would be your season.

Football is a ‘habit’ and I know some people who broke that ‘habit’ many years ago, but for me the ‘habit’ is ongoing and over recent years it certainly has been worth waiting all that time.

Agree in that I don't like that but perhaps it wasn't about Neto but his role as the Skipper to take the message back to the dressing room. Just a thought.

Agree a few players walked off at ft rather than clap the fans. When we were in extra time can Leicester someone starting having a pop at Lewis cook and he reacted angrily. Other incidents too

Of course with us losing 0-2, it would have been helpful if North stand made some noise for the boys. Been poor home support this season unless the team are at full throttle on top - away support remains decent

It's true you're going to get some shouters in the crowd - I s'pose they get them at every club. One in the next stand to me who was the one Lewis Cook reacted to v. Leicester - it seemed it was all about this fan wanting to have his say and bugger everyone around him, nothing to do with supporting the team which I reckon most people actually want to do. Spoiling the evening of most people around him (one lady nearby actually said that to him at full time - thanks for ruining my evening)- but he's always standing up shouting out his views, usually has an agenda against Phil Bill, poor bloke. Makes it look like it's all about him. We can try and ignore it but difficult for the players to. I just hope they realise it's a real minority.

Don't think it helps though surely Neil. OK to show displeasure but abusing someone very rarely results in a positive outcome

You really think the guy was thinking that deeply? Maybe but doubt it.
I actually thought do I want to watch the 2nd half but thought what if? And I always stay to the end whatever the result.
Get it that the emotion got the better of him but doubt that he was thinking strategically that he would abuse Neto so he could motivate the team for the 2nd half

As I wrote, it was just a thought and by all means dismiss it. If I had attended I would also stay to the end. However, I did watch the game to the end. Always in hope for my team albeit when that ninth went in at Liverpool last season, there wasn’t much hope left other than to recover for the next game. Ever the optimist.

Yep unfortunately sounds like the guy lost his s**t and embarrassed himself by abusing Neto.

A number of years ago, a friend who used to be a referee came to a match with me. He, unlike me, could read a game and he would predict what would happen during the course of the match and he was nearly always right! So for many of us, we know what happened but not why it happened and we just react.

However, I would still like to have a chat with Neto about when he chooses to come for a ball and when he doesn't lol.
