Championship 23/24

Surely it can't be much longer before Watford change their manager. Again.
I think the Pozzo ownership there have checked out in recent months and years, rumblings about takeovers that haven't happened. Which might explain why the club is drifting, and the less hawkish these days over sacking the manager!

About right .

A lot of fans want him out as they feel he is too boring and negative.

Moore mlght be the man who takes Ipswich up?

Excellent signing.

EDIT : Ipswich really blew that then !

Rothwell does it again, comes on a sub and scorers the goal to put Saints 3-2 up and then scored a second.

Think that is now twice where he has won games for Saints this season.

Leicester City have a dip in form and results lately and the race for promotion and the actual title are all up for grabs.

Well I said he was under pressure and now Ismael has gone .

Tbh a lot of our fans are happy he has gone and some say it’s over due ,

Trouble is we have all this “he had to go” stuff but then appoint someone else who soon turns out to not be much better or worse !

The owners aren’t popular at all but on this one there probably won’t be many tears shedded.

The fans want attacking , positive football but then the modern game is about possession isn’t it really ?

Leeds U won again and now go top, though Leicester City do have a game in hand.

But unless Saints win their two games in hand, it could be a three horse race now for the top two automatic spots.

See since the 1st January, Leeds United have won 12 and drawn 1 of their thirteen games.

Knowing the champ lots of twists and turns yet to come. Wouldn’t rule out saints getting automatic tbh.

Remember thinking we had blown automatic promotion in April 2015 when we only drew 2-2 with sheff weds. If only we had known at that point that Wednesday liked scoring last minute equalisers!

Leeds definitely get autos, Leicester probably do too. Both have PL squads in the championship, both are comfortably better than the current PL bottom three even without additions. Ipswich manager is manager of the season regardless though, to keep pace with those two is nothing sort of astonishing. Saints don’t quite have the quality of the other two relegated sides, but still have a far stronger squad than the rest of the league.

The ridiculous spending at even the lower end of the PL means that we are going to see seasons like this now where multiple relegated sides get around 90-100 points. Leeds have a 40m pound attacker in their team and he’s arguably only their third best attacker, it’s absurd. Leicester have a multiple cap England International in their midfield and multiple players who played for them in the Europa league. The financial dominance of the PL means that it’s eventually going to become not far off being a closed shop, which is a shame. Next season at least will be more of a classic championship with the three relegated sides being garbage this year.

Leicester’s recent form is poor. But their remaining fixtures do look very favourable for them.

Bizarre isn’t it? It looks like the three relegated will come back up, while the three promoted will go back down
Remember Brian said there is no difference between the bottom 8 or 9 in The Premier League and the top 8 or 9 in the Championship. .

Not necessarily: for that to happen one of them will have to win the playoffs, which is quite possible but far from certain. I hope that Ipswich win one of the automatic spots which could mean that only one of last seasons relegated teams gets back up again..
