As a Twynham "Alum" this was an interesting read. Jamie was in my sisters year and I was two years below. Broadwell and Jackson were also my PE teachers. Jackson left for a year or two but came back. Neil Moss also went to same school

Simon Jackson is a good mate of mine

Used to see Jamie and his brother Mark booting the ball around Kings Park whilst Harry took training. I can remember his debut. If I remember correctly it was a cold, mid week game?

His first game was away at Wigan with the number 8 shirt in September 1990.

Before that he was number 12 against Bury at home the same month.

From The Definitive AFC Bournemouth.

Was t his brother meant to be a better player but less committed ? Jamie was very good and not long after he left Scott Mean came through who I thought was a great talent but injuries destroyed him. Jamie had a few knocks too. Does he still live in Dorset ?

Jamie's first full debut was in the game away against West Ham on 11th April 1990. I distinctly remember it, thinking at the time it was a significant thing for Harry to do against his old club, and "The Definitive AFCB" confirms it.
Prior to that he had three substitute appearances vs Hull, Ipswich and Oldham, but I can't recollect whether he actually came on in those games.

Definitely west ham

Apparently Ian bishop gave him advice during the game despite posting for the opposition!

Absolutely correct, my error, sorry, was looking at 1990-91 season.

His first time as a number 12 was away at Hull City in January 1990.

Played against them both and his brother definitely not the better player. Decent runner and battler but didn’t even make it at semi pro.

Strange player, Jamie. He must’ve been exceptional to play for Liverpool and Spurs but other than coming on at half time against Scotland in Euro 96 and doing very well I remember absolutely nothing about his career, I don’t even remember him playing that well at Dean Court, definitely better than his brother though who was just a waster

He didn’t really play a ton for us if I remember correctly. Very classy midfielder as was one of pools spice boys. For England there were always a few better midfielders around at the time most notably Gazza

I only remember him playing for about 4/5 months, he shouldn’t be mentioned in the same sentence as Gascoigne

Apparently Mark Redknapp was better player than Jamie back in day but went on the wild nights.
I went to Twynham- Broadwell good bloke and PE teacher.
